I think he is confusing the concept of race and the fact that we tell that people are that or that race. In reality there is no race but people are "racialized", meaning that some people are being put into a fictionnal "race box"
Just because it’s socially constructed doesn’t mean it’s fictional. Words are socials constructs lol

What’s wrong. Humans go to war in almost every part of the world
Yeah, but not all regions in the world have active wars or real threats of war lurking around the corner.

I'm TERRIFIED for digital artists. We need some legislations all around the world real quick
Nah, it's better that way. I'm finally gonna be able to make better videos without over-expensive 3D artists and whatnot. Only a minority of jobs will be impacted and a majority of people will be able to benefit from it for the sake of creation.

I think we should look at other ways for digital artists not to lose their income rather than regulating technology itself.

A few months ago I was thinking about learning how to craft stuff in one of these fields, but quickly I figured that I'd lose way too much time and then money to become skillful at it because the AIs will probably take over in 1 or 2 years at most.

"over expensive 3D artist" ? Do you know how much work goes into 3D or digital work in general ?? There is no such thing as over expensive digital artist. They are right now struggling to survive. Not to mention that the work you will be doing by AI will most of the time be STOLEN work from preexisting artist.

Only a minority of jobs will be impacted and a majority of people will be able to benefit from it for the sake of creation.
You really have no idea how the industry work. THOUSANDS of digital artists will lose there revenues because of that. FUrthermore don't think that it will stop to 3D or animation, its the ENTIRE CREATIVE processes that will be impacted.

Its not about the technology. The technology can be good if used ethically and without taking the job of thousands of artists. For example, I might use AI to help my work on the One Piece spin off project, but the AI will be nourrished from MY work, not the work of others.

Sure, why learn how to create when you can just use stolen work from previous artist to go faster? Why bother understanding how the craft work when you can have a bad product in result. You remind me of this guy Shadowdiversity that is thinking that because he learned for hours how to use an IA then he is better at understanding art and creating art than regular artists when its in fact the total opposite.

:lawsigh::lawsigh::lawsigh::lawsigh:

AI is a tool, it shouldn't be the answer to problems of cost and time.

That the most of out touch thing I think I saw you post here. Art is WORK. And work should not be free, never. Unless we live in a utopia.

Lol you should learn to read.
I was answering to "there is no point in learning because i'll be out of job due to AI".
My answer is that art should be pursued for passion not money.
If you don't think this is true, you are just a stupid person. Chasing money is a fool's errand.

My bad I didn't see the quote, in the context it felt like you were saying that artist should not care about Ai as long as they have passion. Simply because this is an argument that comes back a lot when we talk about working in the industry of art

Yes passion should be the prime motor indeed. SOrry

"over expensive 3D artist" ?
They're "very well" paid then.

THOUSANDS of digital artists will lose there revenues because of that
Still a minority in the big picture.

I guess I'mma call Logiko from WG to get his expertise in "ethics".

understanding art
Define "understand art".

creating art than regular artists
I didn't say that.

And I do create art btw.

animators do in this instance.
Where are they ?

This is another debate. Kinda off-topic to be fair.

They're "very well" paid then.
Only a few % of them. Most artist struggle.

No, it will be the majority mate. We are talking here about:
- Screenwriters
- Compositors
- 2D (Concept artist-storyboarders etc.)
- 3D artist (From modelers to animators)
- Visual effect artist
- Even Actors in some cases

We are taking about thousands and THOUSANDS of people losing their job because a CEO doesn't understand how real art is made and because they want to make more money in less time.

I guess I'mma call Logiko from WG to get his expertise in "ethics".
Yeah, that would help you actually understand why using AI non ethically hurt a LOT of people.

Define "understand art".
Understanding how art is done, why its done, why there is so much work put into it. Why it can't be improvised. Why using AI based on othersd people work, will not help you make better art but will actually be non beneficial for you in the long run

o/ Hi, non pro animator Here with family in animation. I don't want to use those skills now but I have the qualification for this job. And now, I know that no matter my future, there is very low chances for me to come back to that if I need to. Because of the evolution of AI and its unethical usage in videogame and movie industry.

Your screenshot was about "animation". Of course I hate what Netflix and other mofo companies will do by supplying us garbage for the masses instead of real crafts. But AIs will take jobs wether you like it or not. What do you want exactly ? Regulating AIs in the whole world ? Never gonna happen. Jobs are created by computers and deleted by computers.

Anyway, only thing I could re-formulate is the "over-expensive" thing. Other part of the post is legitimate.
