You pointed out the difference b/w the two instances yourself. There was no Haki trail on Zoro's swords while there was lightning trail on Kaido's club. The huge Haki waves always appear when CoC is used regardless of whether you're using CoC coating or not.

This looks like just an ordinary COA attack not Haoshoku coating (the lightning is coming from the point of impact and not from Zoro's swords).

We have many examples of COA impacts such as this.

totally, definitely there is no coating effect on the blade but just blackening (coa), still the most impressive shit is how randomly Zoro dodge one of Lucci fastes atttack (with close eyes). That is way worst that troll g5 luffy, Zoro closed eyes random dodge is totally destroying Lucci reputation
