I wish, but I doubt we'll come to this, and even if it happens it won't feel earned due to lack of onscreen power progress and feats to justify it, though it's very constant in One Piece nowadays.
Loda has mistreated so many great characters list keeps piling up
Yeah, Lolda would rather make Coby an admiral :giogio: Lolda has this weird obsession with making the badass characters subordinate to clowns (Luffy-Zoro, Buggy-Mihawk, etc). No offense to trans, but Coby looks so girlish that the LA portrayed him as trans - meanwhile badass Smoker is getting the short end of the stick.

He can't without adCoC 😔
He has my approval - he has the qualities of a king

He should have been an admiral from the start of post-ts, we don’t need a Fujitora. Smoker could have filled in everything that Fujitora was doing and it would have been better. They basically have the same roles anyways, Fujitora could have been a revo or the real leader of sword instead.
Yeah, Fuji is boring

tbf Nami is too old in the live action, its pretty much its own canon/timeline

It’s not that I didn’t get you. You fail to understand something important. See below the explanation sword from the Wikipedia.

According to Kuzan, members of SWORD "are Marines, but also not." On paper, they have submitted their resignations and turned in their identification codes,[3]but in reality they still retain their loyalty and can operate as part of the Marine forces.[4]
Unlike ordinary Marines, members of SWORD are allowed the freedom to disregard any orders they choose and can move and act as they please without repercussion, meaning they can take on missions that are normally forbidden or would otherwise require clearance, such as starting a confrontation with one of the Four Emperors. In return, the Marines and the World Government assume no responsibility for their actions and can disavow or cut off any remaining ties with SWORD members should it become a convenient option. They also have no obligation to help or rescue SWORD personnel who get into trouble; but conversely, this also means that other members of SWORD can go out of their way to rescue their captured counterparts without clearance from the higher-ups. In a way, SWORD acts as a black ops division within the generally law-abiding Marines, with Kuzan even describing them as "wild-card commandos".[3]

They are not Marines anymore on paper and don’t have to follow orders. They still operate as such and protect citizens. But someone in such a position will never get promoted. If Koby wanted to promote he should have resigned and become a member of sword. It is only true WG who doesn’t publicly cut ties with them until they actually need to. Meaning if they do something good. The WG takes credit for it and if they fuck up they blame them.
I get It, but Kuzan never ever said they cannot be promoted: he just said the Marine can cut ties with them in any moment, and that's It.

In fact, Koby's dream already made plenty clear they can be promoted.

All elders coming simply bodied this arc. Completely unnecessary. Should've stuck with Saturn and Kizaru.

Can't believe Kizaru vs Pinlolo would've been a favourable option as opossed to what we got.

We told you hundreds of times you guys were blinded by your insecurities to see great potential in this fight :jordanmf:
potential ? Zoro would have got cooked and sinced he got a promise o fnever losing he would have got saved by something . Lucci vs zoro should have been on screen it would have been way better and kizaru vs luffy too .

Oda was asked specifically about this in an SBS… he was asked what happened to Koby’s dream of becoming promoted to Admiral if he’s in sword… it’s in SBS 107

D: In the past, Koby's goal was to become a commissioned officer of the Marines, but now he wants to be an Admiral! Would his rank still rise, even if he's now a member of SWORD, whose resignation documents are already formally submitted? P.N. Hinokuni Toppi

O: Yes. Was the explanation about SWORD a bit complicated? In chapter 1080, Aokiji said "formal submission of documents" and "they can be disavowed at any time". This means, they entrusted their resignation but they are not disavowed yet. In the case of a Marine soldier getting caught and becoming a hostage, the Marines will acknowledge their resignation then and there and say "that guy is not a Marine soldier!" and forsake them. The ones who are fine with this, so they can fight as they please, are the Marine soldiers called "SWORD".

Kizaru vs Zoro would have been peak

Kizaru light clones vs Zoro 9 sword style

Zoro would need to figure out how to cut light, especially if Kizaru would use awakened abilities...

All by mirroring Sabaody

Instead, we get Kizaru sleeping on a ship for chapters
