That's a stupid argument, I don't wanna get into useless power scaling bs, but an Old Rayleigh isn't much of threat to the Marines, but the prestige boost they would get from his execution would be immense. Plus, why didn't Rayleigh help Ace?
There’s good reason, Gorosei mentioned at one point that they didn’t expect him to come out into the open after all this time
If he wanted to do something with his knowledge he’d have done it a long time ago as simple as that

I'm just trolling bro

relax

Oda is a hack
The bottom line is, is that one piece isn't a logical story, in order to enjoy one piece one must take his brains out, put it in a box and throw it into the river. Otherwise you'll asking too many questions to which there will be no answers, and sometimes the answer Oda gives are worse than his mysteries

Again, stupid argument. Just because he didn't do shit doesn't mean he didn't tell the entire history of the world to someone, he was literally ready to spill the beans to the strowhats but Luffy rejected it. The same WG wanted to Kill Ace so much (even though he posed no threat to them) that they were willing to go to war with WB for that. They were trembling under the shadow of an unborn child, trying to find his mother to kill them together, but Rayleigh who could have been telling WG secrets to god knows whom is no threat to them, when they were willing to genocide the entire Ohara for it, they killed Vegapank for it. And I'm telling this in their prospective, because they don't know what we know, the only reason Rayleigh remind there is because Oda needed him to train Luffy, otherwise he should have died in Marinford with Whitbeard trying to save Ace.

It's really ridiculous when you think about.

They were willing to risk a World War just to kill the son of Roger, who hadn't even done anything yet.

They eliminated an entire island (Ohara) for simply researching the ponegliffs.

They were going full scorched earth on Vegapunk/Egghead, when he himself didn't even know half the story.

Yet Rayleigh, who actually knows the FULL story (is even willing to tell it like we've seen), is allowed to chill his nuts on Sabaody as their neighbor for decades.

I don't think the problem here is stupidity, just a bad environment.
It's neither the environment is bad nor people are stupid.

You have habit to make sense out of everything. We all do to some extent as it's our natural tendency to seek answers and understand but in your case you try to understand everything to make sense out of it even if there isn't.

Perhaps you have high degree of self-awareness or rationality stemming from you being a reader

But thing is you like to have control over you life- what you do or things in which you invest, it makes you feel more powerful, gives you something to do, without feeling lost.

Not everything make sense and egghead is one example. And, it's okay

Let's get this out of the way: We all complained that the last 20 chapters were dragging like crazy and could've easily been squeezed into 5 chapters from a plot standpoint.

But now sth worse happened: The current chapter makes no sense in terms of logic whatsoever and therefore bombs the entire rest of the Egghead arc in hindsight.

This entire Vegapunk memory erasure plot makes no sense.

They know that York is the traitor and has already told the WG everything they need to know (their void century research), even sent them part of the Mother Flame to use it.

At this point they know their fate is sealed and Egghead is going to be erased.

So why the actual fuck would you sit there, let York continue and program a video message to play out only once you're dead?

You know that you still have some time, so actually arrest/eliminate York, make sure the Mother Flame is destroyed and then send out the message to the entire world immediately, while you're dipping with the Seraphim, Pacifista etc. from Egghead.

It makes zero sense whatsoever. There is absolutely no logical argument to save this.
I think they wiped their memories so York didn't know she was caught. Yeah, Vegapunk gave up too easily. Robin, Rayleigh and level 6 prisoners are literally out there. Dude, should have asked Dragon's help. Should have taken out York while she was asleep, destroyed what he should destroy and saved what he needed. Of course, should have broadcast that message too while the WG was far away. Then, he should have gotten away with the help of the military power in Egghead to Dragon's territory.
Maybe deep down, Vega thought he could solve things out with the WG. He programmed the message to start only after his death.

Everything is a mystery to be uncovered.

Egghead makes perfect sence to me. It's not even something I need to push, what Oda created just flow for me. Every details, every characterizations. There is not one single point of doubt and most of this specific story is - from an objective storytelling point of view, because despite everything that everyone might have told you, I know a few things about the subject - very well written.

This is just how I see and read One Piece. I just understand it and yeah, I'm constantly moved by it and it feels SOO good. So yeah.. I feel a bit confused that people don't see the obvious or don't understand basic plot point, even when Oda creates an entire chapter to make things more clear when he didn't really had to.

So.. this chapter was the last straw for me.

I now think I understand fully why the hate of One Piece is so prevalent and so specific to this place more than in any other domain and why it spreads to the community. I know how to fix it, but I can't force anyone to make the move.

So if this forum refuses to evolve and people here to open their mind. I'll not force anything. I'll find another place.

I want to know that I did my best.

If you like doing it then do it for yourself.

If you like one piece the way it is then enjoy it... cherish it. No one is stopping you. No one is calling you stupid for liking one piece then why you have to call others stupid if they don't like one piece as much as you do?

Why it matters what other has to say or whether other people aligns with your thinking? Why you are so eager to change people's opinion?

Anyway, it's your wish. Do what you think is best for you

Tbh, these problems always existed in One Piece.

It is just that OP is relatively better than other mangas that's why it gets a free pass from readers.

Myself, Lee, and Ghostly highlighted these points back in Wano as well.

Nothing has changed and it will happen again in Elbaf.

Criticism won't do anything since Oda himself said that he will continue drawing whatever he wants and will do so till he keeps enjoying drawing OP.

He lost me when he said it will be a great idea to use toon force and said he was thinking of Tom & Jerry when drawing Luffy vs Kaido (or sth like this?).
And the only reason he didnt allow Luffy to use toon force because he was not sure how his opponents will react/fight against him.

Mate, people on this forum are constantly calling those who love One Piece names that I won't repeat.

On top of that, how would you feel if the only place where you want to talk about about your favorite stories is actually full (at 98%) of post saying just how trash the story actually is ?

I'm okay with criticism. I make a few about One Piece and mostly criticism that are far more hard against Oda that those who criticize the story. But this is not criticism here, this is ambiant negativity.

This thread is a proof of that

When you make a BIG thread about storytelling or when you try to analyse the story = People tell you just how wrong you are or that Oda s*cks or that One Piece is just for kids or that you are overthinking it

If you post a thing on a chapter thread = People will tell you how One Piece is actually Trash

If you try to to convince people that actually what they think is trash is not = People will tell you that you are an Oda Wanker or you are simply a clown that don't know anything about what you are talking about (even if technically I know probably more about the craft and One Piece's narration than this entire forum)

When you insist
= People will tell you that you made a THEORY once that you defended a lot that didn't come true. As if making a theory is the same thing as analysing the story.

If you talk about social subject = People will tell you just how woke you are and therefore not worthy of being listened to.

If you insist = People will spread reactionnary rethoric

If you call them out = People will tell you that you are the real fascist and toxic one

If you want to open a discussion about the political aspect of the story = your discussion will be moved toward an hidden place of the forum

When you tell people that those discussion are necessary to understand the story = People will tell you that One Piece is not that deep and that you shouldn't shove politics in threads because it can create toxicity (while being toxic with you)

Etc. Etc. (this is just the tip of the iceberg)

So I repeat:

This place is not a a good space for a One Piece fan and not a place for someone who want to talk deeply about storytelling or deep subject related to those stories.

So I will try to do one last thing to change that, and if the forum refuses to change ... its bye bye :)
