Socialism is the belief in a society where the workers control the means of production. Even if they don't control it, you are still socialistic if you think workers need more power and/or capitalism needs to be nerfed.

True communism is a society that is stateless, moneyless, and classes. The communist manifesto of 1848 was a product of the insanely dystopian capitalism of that time(no regulated work days, hours, benefits, age etc.). Dudes like Lennin tried achieving true communism via revolt and a dictatorship, turning the nation into a communist one overtime. Joseph Stalin happened and it became a communist state with a dictator. There's like...8 different versions of communism now.

Makhno the anarchist ? Got defeated by Russian commies. Don’t know if he did much. Don’t think so from what I recall.

Zapata in Chiapas ? Or the thing a century ago ? Thing in Chiapas looks kinda cool from what I know but it’s more pop culture than actual thing I guess.

YPG can be kinda cool too. They got famous by killing ISIS nazis and having lots of women in their ranks which made them symbolic in the West. Now they’re on their own because we don’t need them anymore… for the Turkish authorities they’re all terrorists no matter what group.



Nowadays more « modern » far left is preoccupied about direct democracy and social stuff because they kinda learned from Stalin and his friends I guess

I don't think they have all the power, but a lot of it and perhaps the majority of it.

In Europe, these people don't run the show in Africa, Latin America Asia and the Middle East for example. Its just in Europe and America that they have massive influence.
