RayanOO

Lazy is the way
Yeah, Shanks should've been a gray (but ultimately good) character willing to play ball, for his own means and agenda. Say like Aokiji for example. But too complicated for Oda to execute I guess, plus Oda's self insert.
Shanks being a figarland and a Yonko would have been enough as a reason

and it would have been totally in line with what Sengoku said at the end of MF to stop the war

no need for a Shanks copy to make it works

But yeah Oda didn’t want to touch to his golden boy

@KaidoBigBoy i still don't think it was Jorul. Cause if he was the traitor, he'd have to be peak retarded to just leave Harold's sword in his head. Or the giants would have to be insanely retarded not to notice that its Harold's sword that's stuck in his head.

But, i am warming up to the idea. Would be fucking insanely awesome if we actually got a fucking oldie as the big bad of an arc. Like, imagine if Jarul was acting all along. And he finally reveals his treachery and pulls up like this.

Yeah, 100%
The layout was already laid with marineford and Shanks being a Figarland.

It would've fit very well and made Shanks a much better character (potential to be comparable to even someone like Doflamingo in quality)

Oda just doesn't want to portray his self insert as anything aside from an ideal goodboy, cause otherwise it will be like he himself being someone willing to be shady lol.

It could go either way. The ocean is also very crucial to the lore, the sea must be alive and I suspect that the devil fruits originated from it. The ocean itself might represent the wish granting devil/god. It explains why df users have a weakness to it, there’s some connection there.

Imu plans to flood the entire world, he’s probably trying to create a twisted version of Utopia using the powers of the sea itself - returning everyone and every df/wish to its origin/creator. Very fitting motives for a final villain.
Yeah, I agree somewhat. Imu should have some power related to the sea. Imu can somehow manipulate DF abilities but it's probably restricted for now. Maybe the flooding will help him gain free access to manipulate any DF ability
