Marco vs King is boring since most people expect Marco to win that anyway. However, I can see them having a small clash to showcase the similarities in their DF.

These are my current predictions for any matchups against calamities.

I also think fights against calamities for Zoro, Kid and Law would be a good proving of their strength before they fight Kaido with Luffy

This is a story about the SHs, so no. They COULD, but against SHs.

Weird take, considering there were more than enough villains in DR, yet Kyros totally showed up Robin for Diamante, and Oda spent tons of time on Law fighting Doflamingo, Fuji and Trebol, Sabo against Burgess and Fuji, not to mention a ton of SHF members. He separated half the crew for this.

The straw hats shouldn't steal every single fight. There is absolutely no reason why Sanji should fight a calamity over Law or kid, imo.

If the scabbards are taking on kaido at the moment, then I think there will probably be 2 rounds of wano fights. With scabbards vs Kaido and Luffy vs big mom happening in round 1 and Luffy vs kaido happening in round 2.

Hence Kid and Law will probably get fights before kaido. As of now, I see no reason why they should fight tobi roppo whereas Sanji and jinbe take on calamities.

Exactly we need to be real here. The fights need to be more organic than that.

The one thing is that I don't think Zoro vs king is necessarily confirmed. I mean, if Luffy isn't going to be on kaido's level post-wano, I don't see why Zoro should be on king's.

I think Zoro vs jack is possible, with Law taking on king. However, Jack doesn't seem to be the best swordsman, judging from what he did against asura doji. But still, the straw hats have a grudge against jack for Zou and Luffy said he would kick jack's ass. Since Zoro is Luffy's right hand, Zoro beating jack would kinda fulfill luffy's statement.

also, jack has more buildup than the rest of the calamities. He was first mentioned back in punk hazard and he was the villain of his own arc. I feel like this is because Jack will be defeated by Zoro while the other calamities will be beaten by other supernova.


lastly, Zoro still is foreshadowed to take on kaido, so Zoro can't be so fucked up from his fight against the calamities, that he isn't able to participate against kaido. Also, I think that jack is a lot closer to king than a lot of people think and that it isn't beneath Zoro to fight a YC3, especially since :

• Zoro has never beaten someone on that tier before
• someone of a similar caliber was shown to be significantly stronger than Luffy back in WCI
• Zoro will 100% go on to have other fights later in the arc.

I also think Law is probably a better matchup for King than Zoro. Due to Law's room, he can easily counter King's speed and mobility in ways that Zoro simply can't.

Also, Law has one of the best devil fruits in the series, so it wouldn't be out of the question for him to beat a YC1. And while he was bested by doflamingo, that was 1 arc ago so he could have gotten stronger, and doffy knew all the abilities of the ope ope no mi, whereas king doesn't.

Not to mention, Luffy could have his initial fight with BM. Fight her, damage her, but not beat her. At some point the arc shifts and they stop fighting and Luffy turns to Kaido. I dont see him hogging another YC after fighting Katakuri, unless an Ace actually exists (which im starting to doubt now)

The reason we haven't seen sanji yet is obviously because he is invisible and hence Oda is waiting to reveal him by having him save someone in a crucial moment. As we all know, sanji is chivalrous and goes out of his way to save women. Due to their orders by kaido, all the tobi roppo, except for black maria(who is coincidentally a woman), are out trying to get yamato. Yamato is already fighting Ulti.

I can see the writing on the wall. Who's Who or page one will try to attack yamato while she's off guard, due to her fight with Ulti, and Sanji will swoop in to save her.

Well as I said, whatever fights happen next are most likely only going to be round 1 out of 2. Zoro will definitely go on to fight kaido and Sanji and jinbe will likely go on to fight big mom.

Also. Jack is close enough to Zoro, and the tobi roppo are most likely close enough to sanji and jinbe, that they would all need to use their ultimate techniques to defeat their opponents. Although I'm sure Z-boys will heavily disagree with me on this one.

The issue imo is that you can't have characters surpassing their limits if we don't even know where their limits are. Before Luffy took on cracker and katakuri, he took on Doffy, who, after gamma knife, he was effectively strong enough to 1v1.

Luffy vs katakuri wouldn't make sense if you didn't have luffy vs doffy first, to showcase what luffy's full power is. Similarly, Zoro cannot surpass his limits if he doesn't actually use asura post-skip.

Once Oda shows us asura, he can then have Zoro surpass asura. Oda can have Zoro easily take out Jack in asura, and then build on this by having him surpass asura against kaido.

Same with the other straw hats.

sigh. How exactly does the chapter even remotely hint that Kidd, Law, and Zoro will be fighting Calamities ^^". They were shown together so what? they are major figures of the alliance but hey whatever rows y'alls boats lolz. Some even have something like Zoro v King, Queen v Kidd and Jack v Law..yh Oda is defo gonna give King who is the strongest Calamity (on paper) to Zoro & weaker calamities to Kidd and Law.

More likely than not imo, we'd be getting a clash between King & Marco now that Marco is at the entrance. Hell we could potentially even been getting Marco & Perorin v King in the case that both have actually teamed up.

Law I reckon will be meeting up with X.Drake soon as he has a second plan that is still unknown to the SHs.

With regards, to Kidd, I have no idea but maybe we get an Apoo v Kid & Killer matchup or sumin


I will say though that I think it is a bit too early for us to be getting any conclusive battles with the calamities. but a matchup like Marco v King I can defo see happening but it'd the be clash at best.

Recently I just remembered how back in 2015ish there was an interview with Oda and he stated that he just didn't have time to create many long drawn out fights as he wants to spend the majority of his time working on the story. He also stated that if he does do fights, he feels like he can't spend more than 1 chapter on any particular one. That is the most crucial aspect of the interview right there, which leads me to believe that there is just no way in hell he can give so many characters in Wano 1 v 1 fights, and have them concluded in just 1 chapter MAYBE 2 chapters. At least not when it comes to the Calamities and above. Hope I am wrong, but the way this entire arc has been built up as being a "War", I fear that I am not.

He split up the crew for Sanji's backstory. Sabo, Burgess, Fuji were all side characters. Every strawhat that was in Dressrosa got their time to shine, even Robin. Zoro who was the closest to Sanji in portrayal, got to fight Pica. Fights don't have to be organic, Oda does whatever he wants.

It really makes sense

because if everyone has 1v1s, then the arc would drag out and it would be boring. The only reasonable way to give each character a chance to shine is tag teams.

I've noticed that the calamity bounties are far higher than the sweet commanders, and I've been beginning to think that this might actually be partially due to strength.

Oda likely made the calamities stronger so that they could be tag teamed.

How do you fix that when you have more characters in Wano than in any other arc in the entire series? It's set up to be a war arc. He has at least 15 characters who should be capable of fighting a 1 v 1 for days on end. Lets say he gives Jack, Queen, and King all 1 v 1 fights. How does he separate all of them with their opponents to be uninterrupted for at least 12 hours, in the middle of a war? Look how many chapters it took him to give Luffy an 11 hours fight. How does he do that x4/5 on Wano, unless 99 percent of the fights are off panelled. From a structural standpoint, it just doesn't seem feasible.

Like I said, I hope I am wrong, but I just can't see it at the moment.

Like @Monkey D Theories said, there is always a reason for it. There is no way in hell that the Wano arc could go on without the protagonists being met with some kind of conflict. Oda isn't going to take the conflict out of the story because "If I put it in, then I HAVE to give everyone a 1 v 1 fight."
