As far I understood the situation there are laws that allows him to do it at US Capital. So he could never do it at LA or NYC without passing a law first.
This is such a bad faith argument; every major company can afford to pay their employees livable wages while still turning a massive profit, they did it for decades before deciding they wanted more to themselves, it’s the outrageous greed that’s suppressing salaries. Inflation is out of control because we have a failure of a businessman placing absurdly high tariffs on every single international import with zero regard for the impact it has on the average consumer; less spending is fine, but these tariffs are raking in billions of dollars for the government and none of that is paying down the debt OR going back to regular people and stimulating the economy, it’s going towards tax breaks for the rich and into the pockets of thousands of lobbyists. The shithead at the top clearly isn’t interested in lowering the national deficit, he just wants to swing his tiny dick around and lie to his followers who lap it up while he grinds them into dust with the rest of us, so it’s a pipe dream to say that taxes can be applied in the right places, he’s just not gonna do it.

Major companies are not responsible for majority of jobs. Small companies are.
You can say that billionaires and millionaires could earn less and pay more to their employees but that would still not result in a better "minimal" wage.
The only way to have rich people earning less and poor people earning more is with competition. If there is only Coca-Cola as a soft drink they can charge how much as they want for their product, pay as less as they want for their employees and keep as much as they want from their profits to the shareholders. Once there is a Pepsi they have to keep their product price around the same as their competitor, making it cheaper. They have to pay their employees better otherwise they will all shift to the competitor specially the most important ones (higher ranks, more intellectual jobs) and they have to consider taking less profit in order to invest into their own company to remain competitive towards the new one, like hiring more people, expanding their services etc.
Inflation is caused first for US spending more than it can and only then by Trump's new tariffs. Your national debt is absurd is the ammount of money printed in the last years as well and still you have a low inflation rate (in my brazilian perspective). But I miss the part where anything related to those taxes are going to tax breaks or lobbyists.
I'm really curious and hopes that this tax madness of Trump works well for US but for now I keep my skepticism and agree with it being a terrible idea.
Social media, as well as other media but social media is way stronger, allows us to perceive things we don't necessarily live. This goes for wars far away from our countries to crimes being commited nearby that we don't see with our own eyes. What I'm trying to say is that even you are not part of the statistic you will see in your IG feed a page about your neighborhood sharing only the bad things that happened there, like robbery, car crashes etc. And even though statistics are getting better the population perception may be getting worse.
About Trump's statement it seems to be half truth. He didn't actually said it was on the raise but that it was out of control, and since it's being declining that means that it is getting controlled but still high as shit. I did some searches and discovered that Rio de Janeiro has lower homicide rate than DC which is crazy. And Brasilia is far more peaceful.
So Trump is right when it comes to caring about crimes at DC. Compared to the world it is a violent city specially for a country capital. Wheter his statements are completely true or not in my perspective is not relevant. The president wants a safer city and people are complaining about it for what reason? This is what is triggering me. People are dying and getting robbed at street even if at lower rates compared to 2023 what is the issue about Donald Trump doing something to help people being safe?

Trump has been consolidating executive power since regaining office in January. There is supposed to be a 3 equal branch of govenrment to keep each other in check, but Trump now has the opposing 3 branches full of his supporters.
The end goal is give the President the ability to do whatever he wants without consequence. They want to change what's legal ti make it harder to get them out, and Trump wants to go beyond his final 4 years in office. The executive branch will be the #1 branch, and everything will go through them.
Is not like the other branches doesn't have autonomy to do what they want even if it goes against Donald Trump. And next year people will vote again and can change the legislative branch, right?

As far I know it is kind of compensation for the 2008 crash crisis and now the recent 2020-2022 pandemics. They kept interest rates around 0% and only after started to increase it to now 4.5%.
