I'm not sure why people don't expect it to end badly. Like yes, great, they hurt Kaido. Payoff is finally coming for their anticipated revenge. But this manga is still about Luffy and his voyage. In the end, Kaido will be his adversary. Thus, in the end, Kaido will beat the Scabbards from something we just don't know yet.

Have patience. Unfortunately, Wano will be the longest arc by far. It will take time to realize the big picture.

Scabbards learnt their own sword style when Oden was away....And Oden trying to teach them Ryou really worked in their favour now...But why didn't Kinemon use Ryou in Punk Hazard or Dressrosa?

Scabbards showing is really impressive so far. They are repeatedly injuring Kaido!! Wow. And their final attack making Kaido bleed seems even more impressive. Zoro is definitely gonna injure Kaido. He is gonna do it single-handedly while it took four of the scabbards to deeply injure him.

Kaido's portrayal so far is disappointing....But I'm sure he is gonna be back stronger than ever....But this will always be a blip imo....Oda could have definitely done it differently

I guess the simple answer here is, using Ryo would bring him into a spotlight, which would meant Kaido eventually get the info about him being alive, which means he would know momo is alive. A risk he couldnt take at this time.

This raid is most likely still not going to be the final battle of Wano arc. The Scabbards are fated to lose and it's very likely that the end of the alliance with Big Mom will at least be one of the major factors in Kaido's downfall in act 4 or 5.
