Real. I feel like bounty, as a concept, tends to get misunderstood. Like it equates to power level or acclaim. I always thought it was much more that all your bounty reflected was to what degree you were a threat to the world government. And the whole thing with Luffy and the WG is that they're doing shit no one has ever done before. It's unprecedented. It's a whole generation of sleeper powerhouses and world changers. So of course having a previous bounty shouldn't matter for new crew members.
Definitely how I’ve always understood it as well; Dragon’s the most wanted man in the world not because he’s (likely) super powerful or famous, but because his goals directly concern the complete destruction of the world’s largest political organization. The fact that Luffy’s now recruited a few folks who happen to have high prices on their heads is more a testament to his reputation, it just goes to show he can charm notorious people to his cause.
Yeah, Dragon is I always who I think about in this discussion. He probably is one of the strongest people, but it doesn't have anything directly to do with bounty.
Trying to predict the next Straw Hat is always hella hard because of this. Like, part of me thinks Yamato because of the parallel to Oden, but the whole point of the story is to reject parallels with previous generations, lol.

if it's still in grand line or earlier arc then yea it's no need to have bounty before. but im sure oda set all the strawhats to have bounty in EoS that's why he made every new strawhat to have bounty since water seven and with how close one piece to ending, im sure the next strawhat must have bounty in this arc too.

How are you sure, though? I don’t see how bounties have really affected the story, other than justifying the Supernovae existences or catapulting Luffy into the stratosphere after WCI...moreover, Luffy himself has never seemed all that impressed with his bounty or anyone else’s, so it doesn’t seem like whether someone has a price on their head or not is all that important when considering new crew mates. It’s possible Yamato could have a bounty if she’s a known quantity to the WG, but if not, I highly doubt that’ll be the reason she doesn’t join the crew.
That's exactly what I'm trying to say... Roger needed Oden's skills, not the power... But this time, the SHP needs Yamato's power, not the skills (since they lack numbers, they have to compensate with power)... Though to be fair, we don't know what else can Yamato provide aside from VC making and some Kozuki knowledge...

Sulong unique? Nah, Chopper's transformations are still superior than a once in a blue moon transformation...
Good fighter? Nah, she's just as good as base Franky, Brook and Robin... Plus no Haki, a common buff in the NW...
Design unique? Nah, as Luffy mentioned, minks are bunch of "Chopper"... He only showed interest with Inu and Neko...
Pedro's will? Ah yes, the one related to the dawn? Pedro started the poneglyph search as it is his way, he failed to obtain a copy of BM's, Carrot survived alongside the copy he failed to get, now she needs to continue that will to search for more poneglyphs in other regions (that way, Carrot can explore the world by going to the blue seas and Paradise) and not to join the SHs (who are going to Laugh Tale, not Paradise or whatever blue sea)...
Bounties are non-bearing... Besides, if Carrot is bound to get a bounty then she should've gotten one during WCI (association alone can give you a bounty)...
Is it about the concern of the bounty amount of the next recruit? Yamato being unbound right now, she's guaranteed to get a bounty (a high one given her background) since she can freely go anywhere now... Plus if she joins the crew, she'll later on get massive bounty boost...

56 (Gomu) + 110 (Hito) + 87 (Hana) + 43 (Yomi) + 29 (???) = 325 (Sanigo = Sunny-go = what the crew call the ship)
Byakko, the White Tiger, will be categorized as Cat Cat fruit, or Neko Neko no Mi.
From some sources I've read, Neko can be read as 2.9, the missing number.

Oh, and Yamato is "caged" to Onigashima. She hasn't show up "outside/WG territory" officially. Because of this, it makes sense if she doesn't have a bounty (because she's not a threat to the WG/hasn't oppose WF/hasn't damage WG interest etc)
However being the daughter of a Yonko can also make her to get a bounty, so it also makes sense too if she have a bounty.
Conclusion, Yamato having or not having bounty may affect your personal preference/requirements/narrative, but it won't take away anything from her chance.
