“using his special sword” just means “using his haki” since you know, His sword just makes him use his haki and that’s it.

Zoro told Luffy not to fool around because they are facing 2 Emperors then attacked an Emperor without Hardening sure but we know Ryuo can be used without Hardening like i've provided the scabbards' example.
You are the one claiming Zoro surely didn't,so you'll have to prove it with a panel.
You can claim he didn't use Much Ryuo on that attack or that he "maybe" didn't,that would be fine but you are claiming he "surely didn't" because Oda wouldn't want to portray that when we have no way of surely guessing what is in Oda's mind.
If next chapter Zoro pierces Kaido with no Hardening and no comment about increasing the amount of Ryuo used in his attack,then yeah you are right and you win but until it happens,nothing confirmed bro.

Remember Zoro hasn’t fought Kaido at all. He’s not even like Law who AT LEAST saw Luffy fail to physically damage kaido.
Zoro doesn’t know that physical attacks don’t work on Kaido. In fact he’s the only one there who doesn’t mention this. He’s interested in Luffy using some new Haki technique and that’s it. Everyone else has fought Kaido or at least seen that physical attacks don’t work.
So Zoro gets serious and tests what physical attacks WITHOUT HAKI do. Nothing. Zoro does nothing and now he’s like everyone else with explicit I proof that haki is required. And then Zoro comments that now he has to use Haki yet Enma will try and suck him dry.
I’m saying Zoro is serious but he’s obviously not using haki as his comment entails. Now next chapter is when we will see the black swords and Enma fuckin with him and if he manages to cut Kaido, then that’s that.

There's no reason to affirm that Enma is more potent than any other o wazamono. Zoro's statement can very well imply that he can't use its full power yet because he lacks mastery. Or that he simply is not using it yet because he doesn't want to and is waiting for the propitious moment to go all out. Makes sense since he can go Asura too yet also didn't.
Except Zoro doesn’t fight like that. The last time he used unbalanced power on a three sword technique, IT FAILED
