Where have y’all got Sanji PL-wise Post-Elbaf btw? Feel like there’s a strong element of growth this arc with the lot of the SHs.

- Chopper & Robin have shown an element of that already
- Zoro oddly enough as well with Scopper scolding him
- Sanji feeling threatened by Zoro & Jinbe last chapter

Only problem though is that with the exception of Imu, I can’t really see the holy knights being a problem outside their regen. Hopefully Dorry & Broggy shock us but it’s really difficult to see growth in the form of incredibly hard fought battles this arc. Imu aside.
I know some Sanji fans will disagree with this but at best he’ll be equal to Zoro but more than likely he’ll be slightly weaker than him

You also have to gauge it using the BBP. The Strawhats can only be so strong after Elbaf because they still have to fight Blackbeard and his crew

Regardless of who fights who it’s highly unlikely that anyone on the crew (outside of BB himself) is even sniffing mid or high top tier so that’s an automatic no-go

I think Sanji at best becomes about as strong as Gaban is currently. So low top tier

Pretty good jump since I have him just below the inbetweeners right now (Law, Zoro, Yamato)

This is my take on it as well
He'll equal to old legends or slightly above
Same for Zoro ofc since they're relative

Yeah a lot of people are talking about the Strawhats jumping 3 tiers and I just don’t see that for the stronger members

I think that’s necessary for like the weak trio or even the mid trio since they still have to prep for their BBP matchups. Like if you send Usopp or Nami in right now they’d get slaughtered

But Luffy’s already on par with the Yonko, Zoro’s an inbetweener, and Sanji’s peak YC1

If Luffy grows that much stronger who else will he fight? If Zoro gets that much stronger wouldn’t he just oneshot Shiryu? If Sanji got that much stronger wouldn’t he bully Lafitte or Pizzaro?

Narratively it just wouldn’t work

Now this depends on how strong Oda wants the BBP to be
They're likely going to be in the top 3 or 4 strongest pirate crews in history when it's all said and done
So I wouldn't put it past him to have Blackbeard be a god tier, Shiryu a mid or high top tier, and who ever Sanji fights as a mid or high top tier

Yeah I guess it all depends on how Oda handles BB’s position amongst the final villains

Is he going down first? Is he the actual final villain?

Is he meant to be the final challenge before we battle Imu?

Cause I’m sure we’ve all heard the theory about him eating a 3rd devil fruit and becoming the strongest/2nd strongest character in the series

If that’s the case then I wouldn’t be surprised if Oda chose to upscale his crew. That’s very possible

To me that’s the only way a Zoro vs Shiryu matchup could make sense after he got bullied by Garp

Don't really have any qualms with this tbh. Personally have Luffy, Zoro and Sanji all on the same tier separated by 1 sub-tier each irregardless of the semantic arguments you can make for X being closer to Y etc.

True but I think we could potentially be underestimating the Blackbeard Pirates strength here.
I think they will be much stronger than the lot of us are anticipating.
Potential time dilation on Elbaf for instance could potentially give the the Blackbeard Pirates time to put a bit of distance btw them and the SHs, then there's also a possibility the climax of Elbaf flows seemlessly into the SHs v BB Pirate battles so there's that as well.
Lastly, if Luffy is going to continue growing stronger going into the fight with the BB Pirates then I don't see why the other SHs can't as well. Think Zoro and Sanji would be Mid and Low Top Tiers respectively come the end of Elbaf. Shiryu and Laffite could potentially be the same level but have hax that makes them a challenge to beat regardless but who knows, if Shiryu and Laffite are both awakened with multiple DFs then there is potential for them to be higher I reckon. For instance I think Shiryu is almost certainly going to have 2 DFs as his sword can always eat one. Lafitte also uses a cane so his cane could also eat one as well

@Rumble had a good write but basiacly we agreed Sanji needs AP and a ranged attack judging from Egghead:
- He was running all of Egghead without geting exhausted at the end
- Got hit by Kizaru, S-Shark, Saturn, Nusjuro, to come out cleaner than anyone else at the end
- Could catch up to Kizarus laser in the air to Bodyblock for Kuma
- Can disperse a laser
- Could locate all enemies he needed to with observation

Sanji already have all the tool he needs beside more ap o ranged attack, if he gets perma acess like to germa mode for example

Problem I have with the AP + Range Attack argument is that I feel like it simply isn't Sanji's fighting style.
Sanji hits pretty hard but if it's not an opponent he can bully then he isn't really the type of fighter that takes out an opponent in one blow like let's say Garp for example, rather he accumulates damage through combination attacks utilizing his speed (i.e. tbf Sanji is usually pit against characters with pretty good defense which make them hard to put down, but still feel like his fighting style revolves around combinations so he's never really going to be that Garp type fighter). Similar issue with the ranged attack arguments is that Sanji can pretty much overcome that problem with his insane speed.

Sanji's hax was highlighted several times on Egghead so reckon his development on Elbaf with revolve around that and in the case that his AP improves it will not be in the form of sheer force per say even if his physical stats go up but rather OP/hax flames. Still think Sanji will be capable of using something like amaterasu at some point in the series. Imagine flames that can burn immortals for example and cannot be put out :steef:. Folks usually speculate on ACoC being what gives Sanji black flames but personally I'm leaning more towards PoL (i.e a ridiculous ability that is able to conjure powerful flames that shouldn't exist on the plane of reality)

Dory and Brogy will be training tools to master their CoC. They’re 1.8 billion bounty pirates who are physically boosted due to Imus powers and can only be harmed by some kinda CoC control we don’t know yet.

I feel like after Elbaf, Sanji will be able to push an admiral to high diff but not defeat them

The thing with the BBP is they don’t have to be stronger than the straw hats, that’s because their powers are built around nerfing the straw hats instead of overpowering them like the Beast Pirates.

So could they be slightly stronger than their BBP opponent but still lose a direct fight with them and need a power up to win, sure (I figured they’d be equal to or comparable to them)

Nah he’s definitely a bigger fan of Zoro than he is Sanji but I do think he enjoys Sanji’s character

He’s far from what I would consider a Sanji hater

Like if Chrono is allowed to chill here when he actively demeans Sanji and his fans then Supplier is more than welcome imo
There is more than 1 Rat here.
The problem is that out weak ‘‘Leader‘‘ lets the door open while we got cheese laying around, so the Rats keep growling in. And this fool doesn’t put Rat Traps anywhere…

It's less about one shotting people I like sanjis Street fighter combo style very much I don't bald about the dumb one shot comments

My problem is that oda is very inconsistent with it like sometimes his attacks burn someone insides, sometimes not, some times they engulf someone totally in flames sometimes not, see queen fight

i also want him to use his flames more full body like endavor from MHA, he is not flame leg Sanji he is black leg. We already seen him full flame mode prets and both legs with IJ

Laffite is chief of staff in BB crew so hold a high rank

AND

Laffite is cool
True but he just has more of a Brook opponent vibe imo
He and Brook are very similar in a way
I'm not sure who Sanji would fight if not him though
There's two other possibilities:
One: Kuzan
Fire vs Ice, classic matchup, and both are pure brawlers for the most part, plus Kuzan aided in Pudding's kidnapping.
Only problem is Kuzan might fight Koby, but if it's a God Valley parallel then Koby may help Luffy against Teach.
Two: Burgess
Not a lot of evidence towards this I just thought it was likely since Burgess seems like he could be a Sanji opponent plus he's probably the third strongest if we exclude Kuzan

Why do people think Sanji will fight Lafitte when Lafitte has more similarities to Brook
Doesn’t matter similarities wise. (You weren’t around for this but people used to push franky with help to fight Queen due to similarities)

It’s Lafittes role in the crew. Lafitte is regularly shown as one of the most important members of BBs camp and has the most impressive showings. Finally ever since pudding got kidnapped this fight became obvious imo. Puddings going to be tortured to try and get her to read the road poneglyphs by Lafitte. Lafittes the only one who can make a map based on what’s on the poneglyphs and historically was known for brutally beating prisoners for fun. The fight narrative is pretty on par for how Sanjis fights usually go.
