Yeah that's what I'm saying, none of the recent VAs got this treatment, although it could always just be because it happens to line up with the Vol 100 fun.

As points of comparison, the Tobi Roppo were announced in WSJ, and Bao Huang wasn't known until the episode aired (although Ryoko Shiraishi tweeted a photo with the other VAs, so people thought she would be Yamato).

Has any previous VA had this kind of rollout? I feel like it probably doesn't mean anything, it could just be fortuitous timing with Volume 100 coming out, so they're making a big deal of it.

If Momonosuke becomes shogun, he cannot permanently join the crew, simply because the ruler of a country can't be the subordinate to a pirate. He could travel with them to Laughtale, but the "Strawhats" take orders from Luffy. I expect the same will apply to Vivi/Alabasta, even if she does end...

Oh, they're certainly fighting for revenge, but they're also fighting Perospero because he's allied with Kaido. If Perospero is around after Kaido falls, then there could be a plot point about dropping the grudge... #PerosperoDidNothingWrong

I've been thinking about this, especially since I hate the whole revenge-against-Perospero thing. If Big Mom becomes an ally (as Olin?) or if she falls and Katakuri takes over the BM pirates, then it could be interesting if resolution to Carrot's desire for revenge is having to drop the grudge...

The whole point of Yamato wanting to be Oden is that they believe someone must be Oden to fulfill the prophecy. Now that Momonosuke likely looks like Oden, I'm willing to bet that the moment Momonosuke arrives, Yamato will just say "I see, so he is Oden!" and that will be the end of it.
