Well, that makes them egocentric ain't it? Arrogant and self-centered attitude is what makes Rin and Barou stands out as players. As they're the ideal "ego" soccer players according to Jinpachi.

And iirc, the translations in the manga was different than the anime. For example, instead of "glam", it was "styl" or something like that for Aryu.

For Rin, it wasn't "half-baked" but it was something else (I forgot).

I get the ego part, don't get me wrong
It's just his whole dialogue about the field being a battlefield, him being Sasuke-light with his motivation and even look/gloomy expression is too tropey for me rn. I hope there is more to him later on, because rn I don't care for him at all

One thing that really irks me is the blatant disregard for football rules and regulations in the anime:
- elbowing a player (without even challenging for the ball) by decking him face-to-face only gets you a yellow card
- for some reason, you can just shoot from the center without the ball getting passed to you (like Rin did last ep)

The ball has to be passed from the kick off (both at the start of the game, and after every goal scored)
You can't just shoot from there (nor would you score in that scenario irl anyway)

A soccer player can score a goal directly from a kick-off. Law 8 in the rules of soccer specifically permits this. However, a player cannot score an own goal from a kick-off. If that happens, then the referee will award a corner kick to the opponents.

Yeah Reo elbowing Raichi without getting a red card while Kuon shook Nagi off before he shoot his goal and getting a red card is pretty stupid.

And Isagi really being outdone by npcs now lol
Nagi is becoming a favorite of mine, unexpectedly tbh. He's way smarter than he lets on, not only on the field but also off

Nagi really goated. He is slowly slipping into a deuterogonistic role in this arc. Also love the current matchup, its so edgy and so suiting.
