Time for Coby wankers to take a look at the cold, hard truth.

Can you imagine Garp bowing down to Rayleigh & Roger and saying that it'd be impossible to walk their paths?

Can you imagine Garp reading about Roger in the newspapers & shivering with tears in his eyes & snot in his nose about how much Roger has grown?

Can you imagine Garp sitting around with a couple of princesses and talking about how he likes/fanboys over Roger?

Being called the new "Hero", having good CoO, Rokushiki is all nice & dandy; Coby is someone who's going to become a future Admiral for damn sure, but that's all he'll be - a weak admiral in a weak, peaceful era.

Expecting him to fight Luffy to the death at EoS, to the point where they "almost killed each other dozens of times" is pure nonsense.
Expecting him to be stronger than even EoS Sanji (who's damn near guaranteed to beat an Admiral) is also nonsense.

Coby isn't a "rival" of Luffy's like Kid or Law, he's a fanboy.

Coby might as well join Luffy's harem of princesses given he was the first "damsel in distress" who was saved by Rupee-chin.

He doesn't mirror Garp in literally anything. There's no great pirate vs great marine set-up. It's a kid who looks up to Luffy and will follow in his footsteps and try his hardest to live up to those ideals.

This is like watching Naruto and saying Konohamaru will be his EoS rival and fight him for Hokage's position just because of one line or two while ignoring entire character establishment.

Of course, no one did that, their community did not have nearly as much delusions.

Smoker is far more of a Garp's mirror than Coby. And Smoker's a fodder.

I share again my thoughts about him

EOS Sanji will be stronger, I keep having this sensation that Coby is nothing but another Konohamaru and I'm not the only one.

He doesn't even need to be that strong in order to achieve his dream, nor there is a narrative that requires him to be really that strong.

At best he will be strong enough to give EOS Luffy an enjoyable match in a friendly contest, but eventually he will end up always losing and after that he will proceed to say/think how great Luffy is. And after that Saké/party together while saying that next time he will capture him, only to have Luffy replying "we will see" with a huge smile on his face.

That's what I see for Coby

All to claim some fodder weaker than mid trio will become Roger's level EoS.

What title, hero?
Garp obtained that title by dismantling the most heinous pirate crew in existance. He was then named hero of the marines.
Coby protected a couple civilians in an island, he's known as hero of the rocky port incident.

Garp never had a dream of rising through the ranks like Coby, and I think Smoker shares the same ideal. They're out there to fight injustice , the only one interested in honorary titles is Coby, which he'll eventually get, but he'll never amount to something really.
If there is a Garp in this gen it is Smoker.
