I will never forgive Oda

I personally prefer Kishimoto's work. The characters come across as more genuine in that series, at least for more off the narrative. One Piece always has Luffy doing things, maybe a few other characters somewhat important in the background and then everyone else is treated like they're patiently waiting for their screen time like Oda has a queue.
They aren't comparable in anything narrative-wise, One Piece is in a league of its own, only thing left maybe is the characters design, OP has more diversity and Naruto imo has some cooler lookin sht

Oda really shines in character design variety + his layered plots, more so Pre-Timeskip. Something that always bugged me about Naruto was always how straight forward a lot of the arcs were as the story went on. On the opposite end, Oda really packs a lot of drama and subplots into Enies Lobby or Skypeia.

Sales don't mean shit.
There are much better manga than OP and Naruto that have less sales, so who cares about sales, brother?

Anyway, you are right about the talk no jutsu stuff.
But we can't really compare the villains, the quality gap is too big.

Naruto's villains are heavily supported by deep and realistic backstories, each of them having the reason and explanation of how they achieved their evilness.
In One Piece you have some cool and well designed villains, mostly Admirals, but a lot of them lack any real substance, which makes them feel like clowns, we even see this with important villains like Kaido, which I like, but the fact that he lacks any substance, no backstory, nothing, I can't even see any evilness in Kaido, because he hasn't killed anyone important in the current timeline, it's just the usual "Wowwww Kaido is so evil, look what he did", so crappy and badly written.
Naruto's villains kill, Naruto's villains really make you feel like they are fucking monsters.

Where's the Kaido Substance, the Big Mom Substance? There's no substance, it's just empty, like a generic action movie villain.
Though Kishimoto ended up ruining his villains, by character assassination and turning most of them good by the end.

But before that Orochimaru was indeed a shock to me when I first watched him, he was creepy, intimidating and a real threat, a living nightmare in his debut and for the rest of Naruto's first half, until he was ruined after the timeskip. No One Piece villain has come even close to him in terms of fear and impression.

This is subjective

For me Naruto is easily a level above one piece. Naruto's final arc aside , it's simply built different.

Pain shits on any one piece villain.

OP has better world building.
