tbh I think the left in America needs to tolerate the fact that some states have regressive cultures and that the only way to exist in a union with these people is to allow them to govern themselves under these cultures.
Progressives in America think that because their values are better, they should impose them on states that don’t actually want them. For certain things, I think the federal government does need to step in. Slavery and segregation were such instances. States shouldn’t have the right to commit human rights violations.
But a lot of modern progressive issues tbh don’t need to be hamfisted down the state’s throats.

Like I don’t think the Supreme Court should have mandated every state to recognize gay marriage.
Do I support gay marriage? Yes
but also it’s a fact not every state supports it. If liberal states try to impose their values on conservative states, imo it only breeds resentment.
Same with abortion

The west doesn’t try to force Islamic countries to accept our values, don’t think we should treat Christian fundamentalist states the same ways

The shift in voting pattern among men demands some explanation.
It's probably less about being accused of a specific thing and being pushed out as a demographic that needs any sort of attention of collective bargaining with, the current cultural zeitgeist among the left is that men are privileged and don't need anything. Democrats are losing out on Blue collar guys because the platform is less about workers rights and economics for middle class family men and more about pandering to women and pandering to minority demographics and non citizens. It's obvious why more men are voting right.
It's probably less about being accused of a specific thing and being pushed out as a demographic that needs any sort of attention of collective bargaining with, the current cultural zeitgeist among the left is that men are privileged and don't need anything. Dems have an tenuous dynamic with their voting base because most minority groups are far more socially conservative than whites and generally aren't pro LGBTQ especially the further you get down the alphabet. If they learn their lesson (probably not), they'd drop the baggage. The latte liberals will still vote for them.

I just think it’s important to realize that America is a massive and diverse country and not every state has the same culture.
Bible Belt states believe abortion is murder. They thought this back when RvW happened and they still think it to this day.
