All this shit makes me think that choosing to not have children early in life was the right thing to do.
Having kids only holds you down. You can't do shit, not even protect them from harm, without facing the possible situation of forcing them to grow up without a parent or even make them orphans.
The people that adopt children/take care of poor kids during times like this are truly the best parts of nature/the universe, IMO.
The amount of adults that make kids "just because" is kind of revolting. Like, how many adults just make children because they felt like they were supposed to?
The stuff with Musk paying women to get impregnated by him, then trying to build them all a complex to live in is just plain nuts.
That's also why the attitude of those religious people pisses me off so much: they treat people like shit for having sex in the first place, then call women worthless if they DON'T make children, too.
They act as is producing a child is more important than nurturing them.
I like how Oda writes adoptive parents, and makes it clear that family is beyond sex and blood, but the people who choose to be in your corner.
In terms of how we reproduce, humans really are one of the fucking stupidest species on the planet. Insects are MUCH more mindful of population numbers and resource management than we are.
Like, how many people in the US could actually protect their kids from the US government? Go ask Gaza.
