Religion and its followers are inseparable.

If the followers are not following something, then there must have been a reason within that religion, a certain condition, or something else.
(Not because of societal pressure, or whatever you want to imply).
You are no judge to criticise a religion or its followers.

Because it specifies an iddah for prebubescent girls and also specifies there is no iddah if the marriage wasnt consummated. Tafsirs agree with my description of this. Women that lost their husbands
Divorcees
Divorcees that are pregnant (iddah ends when they give birth)

If there was no consumation, they can marry immediately.

After a girl has her period she becomes a woman (and takes on religious duties). So in this sense, prepubescent girls having iddah doesn't even make sense. How can thay have iddah when they haven't been divorced or lost their husbands when they can't even marry in the first place?
