It may or may not be relevant. It definitely worth taking a deep look at it. I totally agree some people will just look at gender and yell prejudice just like when black people commit crime but that doesn't mean we have to invalidate the debate.
Being trans alone in my opinion is not that important although it should also worth look it up about mental health of people who says they are a different gender of what they born. But I'm more concerned about the gender surgery and the medicine they take that deals with their mental health.
And how can we declare there is a mental health crisis. Since then? Events like that are not new yet are not common. When was the first shooting? How many shootings we had so far? If it was a crisis it should be way more right? And if we are starting to see a pattern of trans people doing it, then we should take a deep look on why this group is the one more inclined to do such thing. Specially considering how few of them exists.
