Its always funny how people turn a 180 whenever you dare say something they disagree with. Even on topics where you were in agreement, they will suddenly claim you think the opposite over a single grievance where they assume what you think lol

The joke is on you. Authoritarianism has existed way before the concept of left wing x right wing was even a thing. But go on about how abuses of powers are exclusive to the right wing, you will have to deal with C4N's creamy pants if this goes on lmfao:pepecopium:
Left and right wing have always existed mate. It's reactionnarism vs progressism. The nomination of the concept is recent, the reality of the concept is as old as human thinking.

everything you mentioned existed in various societies throughout history, long before the rise of capitalism

this sound anachronic
Notice how he didn't even mention capitalism :quest:

The current mindset is "Why are you defending Pol Pot ?"

Left right was made in the French Revolution

It ONLY made sense there, trying to split all political options into two zones is dumb

Don't tell them that the Ancient Greek invented democracy.
*Lebanon

Practically everything about Greek democracy started there, Greece was just lucky it was protected from European tribes while Lebanon had to deal with Iraq and Egypt's empire bullshit

@Mathias is there anyway to deal with that without being irrespectful ?
You're literally trying to think with the far-right. The far-righties aren't talking with you in good faith. And you're being baited as always.

democratics societies existed before capitalism? no, this is also a concept that emerged in the capitalist context

@Logiko I'm very marxist in this sense, I consider all these notion in historical and materialist terms
Ancient-Athens is capitalistic ? I mean what's your definition of capitalism ? Do you think feudal times were capitalistic ?

1) there is a huge gap between what they understood about democracy and what we understand
2) so are you telling me there was democracy in feudalism??

left and right wing concepts just make sense in the capitalist context
thats why I mentioned that

Yes and no. Left and right concept are indeed nomination of the "modern age" and the rise of capitalism, but the reality of those concept is as old as human language itself.

A Little exemple :

Upper paleolithic : The food is getting scarse in the current settlement of this hunting gathering group. A woman is sick and people are getting very nervous and stressed. The hunting group finally came back with a big piece of meat. They (the hunters) agreed to share the meat and give a bigger portion to the weak woman. But the rest of the group (that remained to work on the camp) does not agree and start yelling.

As you can see here, with a simple conflict, we have the left/right (progressive/reactionnary) dichotomy at work. The group who hunted the beast decided to share food with equity, but the group who stayed back and is hungry as fuck wanted the same size, thus ignoring the needs of the weak one in the group.

Hassina was pretty progressive

she focused heavily on DEI and whatnot

her politics/policies were mostly leftist too and I really liked many things she did

however she had other motives hence her downfall
You described DEI, which is a liberal thing, but not leftism. What do you mean by "leftism" ?

Yeah... but for some reason, I have this feeling that there is a way for them to understand.

That's why I came back, I can't give up that feeling. I need to know that there is something that can be done to politicize them.

It's my idealistic side..
