Good. That's your personal opinion. It still doesn't help me as you didn't specify any elements of the manga that you like.

What does the poll option with the sword mean? Does it mean you like sword(fights) or that you want to kill the thread opener for asking such a possibly blasphemous question?
You want to vote but don't know where ? Vote the 🗡️ !

You want people know you're here ? Vote the 🗡️

The OP is saying sh*t ? Vote the 🗡️

So as far as I understood, Kingdom's story mostly takes place on battlefields and it's about armies facing each other all the time? Right?
Well, Campaigns are like different adventures for the MC, but there are politics, mysteries, sub-plots about different cultures/clans (Mountain tribes, Xiongnu, Shiyuu etc...), and other inner conflicts settled outside the battlefield like moral values, Law enforcement and conspiracies (what you find in a seinen). The world is thicc and Hara exploits all story elements to create several narrative plays that come into effect at the end of each arc. The satisfaction of seeing an enemy general's head flying like baseball? That's just one of them lol.

You can’t get yourself through chapter 1?

Think of any other manga you’ve ever read in its entirety, and then think of how much you would’ve missed out on if you dropped the series in chapter 1 lol.
Never felt as un-interested in any other series tho.
Game of thrones was similar to me. Watched just a couple episodes and kept thinking 'why am I even watching this ?'

but the moment Hara went supernatural on a series he is not supposed to
What does this even mean lol? “Not supposed to?” Talk about a ridiculous notion. Kingdom has had super natural elements since like chapter 50. Hell Chapter 1 of Kingdom mentions “the time of the age of gods.”

Those who say something as ridiculous as this are people who have fundamentally misunderstood Kingdom from the very start.

I’m being hyperbolic but still lol. Maybe I’ll do a giant thread on why Kingdom is better than OP if I ever get the inkling lol.
You don't need to do that, One Piece and Kingdom imo aren't meant for the same public. You can just do one about why people should read Kingdom.
When you're into both, you know what to expect from the authors.

Topic is about Kingdom so i will say what I like about it. First of all a main character that has to overcome his status, rising ranks against all odds without compromising his ideals is always appealing to the readers. Aside from the fact he is a total badass.

Hara also managed to make the political side of the story interesting with this constant fight for the king position and the philosophy of 2 men opposing each other.

The wars are always epic with a good mix of raw strength and strategy, the generals are charismatic as fuck.

Regarding the plot, it took me a few chapters to get fully invested in Kingdom, I liked it quite a lot until the coalition arc started and from then I just couldn't stop reading. It was just amazing everywhere on the battlefield, fights, strategy, cockiness, tragedy, plot twist, it had everything. One of the coolest moment ever was that madman Duke Hyou engaging his tropes before the coalition could finish their speech.

There is still a few flaws though that I can't go through without spoiling.

Kingdom was good but the moment Hara went supernatural on a series he is not supposed to it went downhill,
talking specifically about reviving Shin,
that was pure shit. Can't enjoy Kingdom the same way after that.
No. Just no. The supernatural has always been a part of Kingdom's setting. To say that Kingdom is series that is "not supposed to be supernatural" is to completely ignore one of the core elements of the series.

To quote my responses to the last bloke who said something along similar lines.
I have no problem with it being both. Lol. Kingdom has always been one part wars/battles/politics, one part philosophy/ideology and one part spiritualism.

Yet for some strange reason, some people seem to have completely focused on the political part to the point that when Hara returns to focus on the spiritualism aspect that has always been prevalent in his manga, people start losing their minds regarding a world where individuals possess auras that physically affect other people (since Chapter 10 no less).

A world where people see and interact with spirits.

In addition to all these panels, Ei Sei in Chapter 426 and 427 talks of the light that resides in all of humanity.

So we can also add every time these “lights of humanity” appear as well.
A world where individuals can manipulate their own life force to achieve practically superhuman feats.

Along with literally every time that Kyoukai uses the Shiyuu Priestess Dance onscreen. Lol.
Yet despite all this, we somehow have folks complaining about a major aspect of the manga that has been there since the beginning of the series. :kaidowhat:

Utterly ridiculous. :rolaugh:
This is on par with saying that Black Clover should not have magic, Dragon Ball should not have ki, MHA should not have quirks or One Piece should not have pirates.

Spiritualism/mysticism/myth/whatever you want to call it has been a core part of Kingdom since the beginning of the series. To say that Kingdom should not have it is not judging the series for what it is but judging it for what it is not, which is just a plain unfair thing to do.

The concept of life force has been around in the series since Chapter 85
The technique used was alluded to earlier in this very arc
All of this was done by the character who has the strongest connection to spiritualism out of any character in a series full of spiritualism.

So it is not nonsensical. Perhaps not cleanly executed but certainly not nonsensical.

Kingdom may have had some sprinkle of supernatural but no one EVER thought we would be getting into the realm in Kingdom to revive characters or touch the revival concept, I don't care what anyone says about Shin being revived, that was bullshit, fairy tail/dbz tier writing. How about not kill the character at all?
