General & Others It is impossible for Big Mom to win

#61
1. Statement comparison btw Luffy, Law & Kidd vs the Yonko:
vs. Kaido
*Luffy (Time after time): ‘I’ll definitely beat Kaido’
*Kidd (On the way to Onigashima, bickering with Luffy): Kaido's head is mine

- vs. Linlin
*Kidd & Law (Rooftop): We have to separate those two (i.e. Linlin & Kaido) from each other
*Kidd (After rooftop looking for Linlin in the Castle): We can’t let her (i.e. Linlin) regroup with Kaido
*Law (Chapter 1031): Looks like I'll have to take down monsters like you if I wanna uncover the true history
*Kidd (Chapter 1031): Even if it costs me my life, I'm gonna rip you off your throne
*Kidd (Chapter 1038): Hahaha...for some reason I get the feeling I'm fighting for something else entirely... (*in response to Linlin: "Looks like you brats really want my head")
*Law/Kidd (Chapter 1038): Even if I die I'm not gonna let you go to the roof (*in the context of Kaido falling to Luffy soon)

Even tho, there's a bit of bravado thrown for good measure, from the above, you can see a very consistent pattern in the messaging for both fights. (i.e. Luffy wants to beat Kaido and Law & Kidd want to separate Big Mom from Kaido)

2. Panel Time comparison btw Luffy v Kaido & Law & Kidd v Linlin
Can't be arsed to count the panels lol but I think the majority of us will agree that there is no debate here. Hell the panel time of Law & Kidd v Linlin doesn't even compare to that of Sanji v Queen or Zoro v King and most of the Law & Kidd v Linlin fight has been off-paneled

3. Portrayal & Fight Progression
Luffy v Kaido
- Luffy has been progressively getting stronger in this fight with Kaido and is now able to fight him on equal footing last time we saw them and is still yet to use any new gears or even Gear 4th in this fight.

Law & Kidd v Linlin
- There's been little to no progression in this fight with Linlin and both Law and Kidd have already used up their trump cards.
- Until they used their awakenings, Law & Kidd were getting pressed heavy by Linlin and the use of their awakenings only resulted in Linlin powering up
- As of the latest chapter they were getting their asses handed to them so bad that their crew mates were begging Linlin to stop attacking them. Both were able to get in shots at the end but there's no indication that the current pattern in the fight is gonna change.

Be it messaging, panel time, fight progression or even potrayal there is a stack difference between the way both fights are written.

Right now this fight has "draw/inconclusive" written all over it and given the direction of this chapter, imo the nail in the coffin for this conclusion will be if we go to Luffy v Kaido next chapter.
Great post, I hope people will wake up and smell the coffee. Big Mom isn't meant to go down this arc.

As opposed to literally all other tells this arc has had about her going down? How can you acknowledge that and ignore narration on Hawkins' Tarot cards or Killer telling Kid he's clear to win? You know this would basically render 1029 moot right?

Oden's prophecy in chapter 1000? CP-0 talking about how taking them down is impossible. There's tons of little points in dialogue that support her going down. But we casually ignore those things right?

No she is a yonko, a pirate king competitor, that has directly fucked with Luffy, and that Luffy has personally said he will take her down.
Her crew are MIA, she has said she will betray Kaido, she now has half of Sanji's somewhat redeemed family held captive, the ongoing plot thread with the charcters from Elbaf is also in play. You can say she is of secondary relevance to this arc, but she was the first yonko Luffy came into conflict with in the post-TS, both over the phone and directly, and he promised Kat that he would beat her, as well as promising her she was next after Kaido multiple times. Kidd and Law have scaled back their ambition in this chapter to just stalling her from the roof.

BM losing before Kaido dehypes the feat of someone from the new generation taking down a yonko, her losing after seems kind of anti-climactic.

Yeah and that doesnt change the fact that she is the secondary villain of the Saga, just look at how she and Kaido have been build up since the SH have enter the NW, while they enter in direct confrontation with Kaido by forming the alliance with Law, capturing CC, ending the Smile trade, defeating Doffy, the conflict with BM was build on the sidelines as a minor one, with the WCI arc being used to bring BM to Wano for the grand-finalle of this whole conflict with the Emperors, but before the Oda take this detour to take out BM crew, so she would alreay be a half-Emperor in Wano, as Kaido was the real Big Boss.

If she is defeated here, there wont be missing threads, her plotlines are already solved, this ideia that Luffy and the SH will go back to WCI to fight a weaker crew than the Beast Pirates that they already beaten before with half strengt is totally nonsense with the direction the story is going, the plot must move to more important things after Wano, like Shanks, Teach, Laftel and the Final War, there's nothing relevant in WCI and BM anymore.

The Niji and Yonji plot can be solved in the Germa cover story, and isnt that relevant to a whole arc to be made about It, they arent not even close to characters like Robin and Ace to have a rescue arc.

After Wano Luffy wont fight enemies weaker than Kaido like her

The progression is the exact same.

Linlin is tired and worn out. Kid and Law have strengthened their resolve, with Kid now not only fighting for himself but also to help Luffy.

- vs. Linlin
*Kidd & Law (Rooftop): We have to separate those two (i.e. Linlin & Kaido) from each other
*Kidd (After rooftop looking for Linlin in the Castle): We can’t let her (i.e. Linlin) regroup with Kaido

.
Kid literally states in 1038 that the emperors aren't invincible, but I guess if you cherry pick quotes you can craft your own narrative

Only Loro's fanboys believe Kidd and Law will lose. This is because they look only at physical power like 13 years old guys and apparently dont know basic and common shones trophes. Of course Kidd and Law will win,the story is clearly going in that direction. But i guess its true that sometimes Oda likes to troll,so... we'll see.

Edit: lol at the admin changing my comments!

Lucci didn't beated Luffy like that at Enies Lobby.

Katakuri won against Luffy.

Kaido just beated Luffy like that 3 times and Luffy is losing this currently fight.

BM and Kaido are winning.
Yea Kaido and BM are winning
Also the raid is failing
They'll just spare Luffy and co because why not
Then we get a 70 chapters long act 4 where Shanks has to team up with Luffy Kid and Law to finally beat the Yonko 4V2.
Right?

The outcome probably won't be crystal clear. Kid and Law will probably manage to fire off one last big finisher attack but not defeat her, but BM might end up finding the red poneglyph or something and decide to leave.
BM is 100% falling here
She is the main villain of the Yonko saga as much as Kaido is and both are falling together.
If it's not Kid and Law then it'll be Luffy who takes her out

You are trying to be sarcastic but this is pretty much the way Oda would write this arc
Post automatically merged:

Yeah and Kaido and Big Mom are going to WIN like Katakuri. :ihaha:
Exactly

Oda wants us to think Big Mom could go down due to dramatic suspense reasons, keeping the audience on their toes. The tarot cards meaning meant "a new way forward", "collapse of the old and brittle", which is pretty vague and can be interpreted in several ways.

Oden's prophecy relates to Kaido not Big Mom.

Oda's message at Jump Festa last month "I'm surprised, I thought Wano would have ended in 2021"
Herrera95 "Oda is gonna write the raid falling and an act 4"
Oda not knowing when Wano will end pretty much debunks your argument.

Never said anything about act 4, but he could write exactly like that. But raid failling would be the fastest option to end the arc.
