General & Others It is impossible for Big Mom to win

Most "vs" title chapters end that chapter or go on for one more chapter. So I'm not putting up any expectations.
There are definitely exceptions, but I get you

Luffy vs Lucci started in 418 and ended 428 (yes, I understand that this is a Luffy fight)
Franky vs Fukuro started in 404 and ended halfway through 406

For sure, most VS chapters (in the entire series) end either the same chapter (Zoro vs Ryuma, Jinbe vs WsW, etc) or the chapter after (Robin vs Black Maria, Sanji vs Jabra), but I'm just pointing out that potentially her presence as a Yonko might have Oda focusing in the fight for longer than a chapter. Unlike Queen or King, who got plenty of scenes with Sanji and Zoro, the BM was heavily offscreened until 1029-1031. Even then, it only has like 4-6 pages each chapter there.

But i guess she was fighting a ton before this point, so whatever. We'll see how it plays out, 1039 is gonna be a really interesting chapter lol.

The fight ends next chapter given oda's title conventions, so either Linlin is defeated in the most lackluster way out of anyone (sans Jack) or Law and Kidd get participation trophy's for their efforts in the Onigashima raid and are utterly disappointing.

Either way I don't think people will be satisfied.
People wont be statisfied coz Bigmom stop using her high tier moves lol

You only need 1 chapter to "show" her high tier moves. She could use an AdCoC punch and Ikoku Sovereignty next chapter as her last resorts. I assume she'd throw out a final attack that we haven't seen anyway. But who knows if it "only" lasts a chapter. 1039 is gonna be important

Bm wasn't even seriously injured lol. Even law amd kidd themselfs stated that. Keep on dreaming if you believe she will lose here against law and kidd.

The reason why oda shows bm vs law and kidd is simple, the readers have to see their growth. So that later on, when they grow and become emperors, people won't say "this is too sudden and asspull".

But let's wait and see :-)

Neither of them are ready to be Yonko so this is a good argument

for whatever reason, a lot of people are clinging on to this idea that despite everything, Linlin will somehow triumph over kid and law. Not only would this result in the death of every single member of the alliance, this would fly in the face of every single precedent we've seen so far.

In one piece, extreme diff battles are quite rare. They are usually reserved for Luffy and occasionally zoro(albeit zoro is often pushed to his limits more by situation than in an actual vs battle. In an extreme diff battle, it usually has the antagonist dominating for much of the fight with the protagonist(usually Luffy) ultimately winning by surpassing his limits and becoming stronger.

To this day, I cannot think of a single extreme diff battle that Oda has shown on screen in which the protagonist loses. When characters lose, they are mostly stomped. Kaido utterly destroyed Luffy in act 1, he utterly destroyed the scabbards on the rooftop, ect. This absolutely isn't what is happening with big mom. Even before Kid and Law recovered from being beat, Linlin was already panting and exhausted. She even said as much. Not to mention her face is still messed up from taking awakened attacks and the fact she had to sacrifice lifespan for a power up.

Kid and Law aren't the only ones who are being pushed, up to this point, it has been a high diff fight for Linlin. What this means is that Kid and Law are basically 1 power up away from winning. This power up could totally be simply them having better control of their DFs, as Law's attack seemed to do more damage this chapter and Kid didn't even need awakening to do serious damage to linlin. Or they could have a haki bloom, which would be more than justified given their resolve and the difficulty of the battle.

In any case, not only does plot demand that big mom lose(or else everyone dies), but precedent falls strongly on the side of Kid and Law. This would be like Luffy loses to Lucci or him losing to Katakuri. Yeah their opponents were stronger, but Luffy surpassed his limits. So too will Kid and Law.
Yes,it is exactly what i think. Also,Kidd and Law losing here would destroy their hype of being rivals to Luffy. They need this win.

Luffy also said he came to wano to beat kaido, Linlin, and orochi

obviously Luffy doesn’t care about the latter two so he doesn’t literally want to fight them.

kid and law are beating Linlin for Luffy, which is what kid’s line about “fighting for another purpose” means. He not only wants to beat linlin for himself, he wants to do it to help Luffy beat kaido
Luffy came to Wano to beat Kaido, and will beat Kaido.
Big Mom came to Wano to beat Luffy, after Luffy said multiple times he'd beat her, he reaffirmed this earlier in the raid that she was next AFTER Kaido, not
Orochi isn't a fighter, and isn't in the way of Luffy becoming PK, equating the two, when Luffy SPOKE TO BIG MOM DIRECTLY MULTIPLE TIMES AND TO OTHER PEOPLE is disengenuous.
Kidd and Law have flip flopped several times, the new flip flop after realising they can't beat her is to prevent her from reaching the roof...
