It just galls them that Kizaru is more effective as a reluctant antagonist than some pirate villains who had no such qualms but couldn’t accomplish as much.

They’d rather have Kizaru be an idiot that wastes time with Luffy rather than fulfil the top priority he came for. Seems like some people just got too comfortable with incompetent villains from the previous arc.

There are admirals fans that were/are trying to woobify Kizaru too. Claiming he got Luffy food, he wasn't trying to kill VP, Bonney, or Kuma, or he is nerfed. Kizaru did his job and killed VP. I don't particularly like the character, but glad Oda kept Kizaru on his path. Kizaru said it himself, he was just a cog in the machine. As far as I am concerned, he can stay that way; I don't want any changes, and I want him to go down with WG.

Well currently, Lucci is on par with Zoro and he only has a normal zoan. Drake has an ancient zoan, which puts his potential even above Lucci's.

I can see Drake being admiral with an awakened ancient zoan and some advanced CoA/CoO.

A lot of people think the admirals have way more advanced abilities than they have actually shown. So far none have shown ACoC and none have shown awakening. Could they all have it? Sure.

But at this point it honestly looks like admirals are just have advanced CoA/CoO and an OP fruit.

L drake is probably dead and YC1s are not top tiers.

The average admiral is probably only 1 or 2 power ups away from a YC1.

While he wasn't canon, Zephyr wasn't shown to have CoC or a strong DF either. You can be an admiral without a busted power like CoC or a good DF.

Its just that you can never be among the strongest marines, like Garp and Sengoku, both of whom had CoC.

He kinda had a draw in his first fight with Goofy and even stomped Snakeman. After that he was fighting with a head injury while Goofy got healed by magical food meme power. He still got up first and eliminated his target. About him killing his friends, that's what soldiers do if it comes to that.
