My hope for most of this Kizaru-betrayal theorizing is that it leads to something later in the story. It would have been trash to have Kizaru get emotional and betray his lifes work so suddenly.
I'd rather have him live with it and hopefully do the right thing in the final war. Let this marinate instead of rushing it.

This was a one arc conflicted thing because the characters involved were tied to Kizaru emotionally. Nothing really happened that could make him lose his trust and loyalty in the Navy.
I thought it would make sense for him to once in his lifetime act on emotions.
