Never would I have thought that a character who received combat hype in the beginning of the arc with Luffy (along with a Jump cover to boot like many other antagonists), would then get overshadowed by another character and neither them actually be ceremoniously defeated.

Kizaru didnt show anything new except for some clones, and he was "defeated" by something that Saturn just kind of scoffed at. Thats was it, he got pizza tossed and that was the last time he moved. Not a true conclusion....just nothing.


I can forgive Oda if Kizaru ends up being a real fight to someone down the line, but thats years away at this point.

Kizaru got a great character development, a mid management and now lacks a proper conclusion.

Oda spent an entire saga trying to build Kizaru as something different.

I never expected Kizaru to be defeated in this arc, but it’s still frustrating that Oda is still trying to hide abilities and keep everything in reserve until the end.

There are so many ways to handle fights even if you don’t want a character to show all they have in their bag. Other mangakas don’t struggle with that.

Besides that, I don’t mind the whole emotional conflict…but there should be some sort of resolution here even if Kizaru is to appear in future arcs. It wasn’t help that the broadcast was dragged out so it feels like forever.

When did Big Mom sit an arc out? Kizaru wasn't running around brainlessly playing the role of this arcs ticking time bomb, nor did he go all out only to have his final attack taken out by dfless Law.

Big Mom got more focus than Kaidou overall, the issue was her all out showings were abysmal and she got defeated. Kizaru barely got to show anything and did not get defeated. Weird comparison.

People argue how ruthless Akainu is yet even AKainu could not kill Aokiji after defeating him in their duel , yet Kizaru is worse than Akainu its clear now.

Also about his power .

- no future sight ( kinda expected this from person who is all about speed )
- no awakening ( huge letdown )
- no acoc ( didnt expect this but still )
- piss poor attack power on top all those powers he is lacking

The hype is over , Kizaru is garbage he deserves defeat based on everything shown so far.

I consider that Oda can still salvage his arc by giving him a mini-conclusion if he were to dedicate 2-3 pages focused on his inner thoughts next chapter now that Bonney & Kuma escaped and are safe. Egghead is over mayyybe we can get an update on the remaining characters before cutting away for good

What we get for "conclusion" is that :

Then fuck him and fuck Oda for the waste of time.

I told you that Kizaru best hope was to fight Zori:myman:, that duel was the best thing, there was already a good narrative (sabody), but Loda is a trash writer:josad:

Complete waste of time if this is the end of Kizarus relevance to the story. Only way he can get fixed is if we get a Bonney/Kuma/Kizaru emotional team against Saturn when the WG falls.

My hope for most of this Kizaru-betrayal theorizing is that it leads to something later in the story. It would have been trash to have Kizaru get emotional and betray his lifes work so suddenly.

I'd rather have him live with it and hopefully do the right thing in the final war. Let this marinate instead of rushing it.

Character wise he is consistent with what he got from him during the pre-skip. Power wise he needs some haki feats and awakening.

A little dig into Kizaru’s POV about this whole ordeal is bare minimum level of writing, if Oda can’t even provide that in the following chapters…. 💀
Like why open up these plotlines without even closing it? Oda is shit at endings, this final saga is doomed.
