Chapter Discussion Luffy VS Kaido is getting boring.

#22
1st post here. Hello everyone. Sorry, about the incoming negativity, but I agree with this post. The fight is just "whatever" to me now. Luffy could OS kaido next chapter and it would feel like a relief rather than a dissapointment. Hell is this an actual intense fight or an intense training for luffy with all those retrys he is getting? You would think TWO YONKOS allying together would cause a disaster, but nope 5vs2 ended in an intense training session for the novas(Zoro getting his bones broken dosent mean much when a magic drug exists and the side effects will surely not amount to much anyways). What does the title of wsc even mean? Is it just a hype title for kaido or does it actually mean anything? A 5v1 or 3v1(the captains) would have been ideal imo(take out big mom) Kaido's fighting style overall looks mid to me. If kaido also threw hands it would have been lit lmao. I have alot to say on this raid, but imo every fight is either mid or boring. Maybe I expected too much after all those years of hype. I just hope all this mystery that Oda loves to do over and over again actually delivers. Also big mom was a mistake(off topic).

I would not say boring but rather repetitive. I think that Oda could have skip one or two rounds.

But I guess people were right when they were saying that Oda is aiming for the « strawhat vs Kaido » a la Oars fight. If it happens to be true, the issue will be that Oda wanted to make his cake and eating too.
He wanted the R5 double spread, he wanted the Luffy and Momo double spread and now I supposed that he wanted the Strawhats double spread. Which imo destroy the flow of this fight and of the story as a whole.

:specialmeh:

I think its been a good fight visually. Not that interesting when it comes to intrigue though like Linlin vs Kid and Law. Thats mostly because no one knew exactly how that fight would. Here,we're all certain that Luffy is gonna be the one to win and with the lack of stakes, it's difficult to get excited about the outcome.

Visually, Oda has gone all out with this fight.

I like Luffy vs Kaido. Fights decent, drunk Kaido is fun.

It’ll be done when he gets up next but when so many of the complaints have been that things are too easy for the Strawhats I can’t really agree with it being boring that Kaido has just fucking powered through everything that has been thrown at him.

Also don’t really count Luffy getting “beaten” by Ragnarok the first time, he was up after a few seconds.

My main dislike was how quickly Luffy’s defeat when he feel off the island was resolved, that should have been left standing for a few chapters where we had no idea what was happening. Let the Flying Six fights finish, the Strawhats are fighting despite not knowing if Luffy is alive or dead then Bam, he shows up on the big of a giant dragon. Explain what happened in a flashback.

Luffy stans in the mud :funky:
Kaido is showing ultimate respect to Luffy throughout this fight, even creating new techniques of his dragonic culverin form based on Luffy's techniques.
Kaido hasn't showed his awakening yet, but aside from that Luffy has pushed Kaido to very high difficulty, and Luffy's "loss" involved a sneak move from an assassin, how is that an L for a Luffy fan as performance 1vs1 against the WSC?:seriously:

Kaido is so far above every other enemy aside from Big Mom (who was ko'd due to a mixture of the bomb and being unable to use her homies due to a hard counter removing voice control), the fact that Luffy is keeping up so well is tremendous.
