Bobobo, Pop Team Epic and To Be Hero are high art.
(I'm kidding but I do love them! Brilliant shows imo)

I fucking love Fairy Tail tbh, especially for its female characters, music, art style and setting of all things! Silver is probably the best written father character I've seen too. Fairy Tail has given me the best emotional moments of any series too.

Kubo is a much better writer than people say too, he is extremely poetic and quite a thoughtful, reserved guy with a TON of style/flair and hidden depth. His bonus Hell chapter was unironically peak fiction and made me going from hating Bleach after what I thought was the 2nd worst final arc ever to loving it again, it was THAT good! Completely turned the lore up on its head and blew my mind, some of the best plot twists and fanservice I've seen!
I heard he doesn't want to continue the Hell arc/manga unless its on his own terms, his own vision, which I can respect if is true too! He supposedly had 10 years of content planned for Bleach still! Maybe specifically for the TYBW too!

I think Mashima is also a fantastic emotional/character writer, he is very underrated in that aspect imo. As much as I hated the final arc of Fairy Tail, I was extremely emotional in good ways as well for certain reasons. I think Erza was brilliantly written as a character, same with Lucy but they were terribly written for fights/as fighters.

Its easy to hate on Naruto but in hindsight I respect some of Kishis choices and style a lot too. The amount of respect he finally gave Gai (but ironically didn't for Rock Lee) in the end is what I've always dreamed of and could not ask for better too. The true fanboy, the one who fell in love with the Naruto series and anime around 20 years ago from now, was EXTREMELY happy at Gai vs Madara and his LONG awaited 8 gates moment. Which, Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 and the anime especially UNS4 made MUCH better too!
I genuinely think Gai is a misunderstood, underrated, brilliantly written, heroic, iconic and hilarious character. I love him.

I think Ranma 1/2 is a fantastic anime and manga, including the dub for it (despite the actual issues the dub had later on) and the manga actually had the most satisfactory ending I've ever seen for a series aside from Pushing Daises and Arcane for example. Its one of those rare times where I really loved the ending to something that wasn't a game or movie. Well a tv series specifically I guess.
Ranma 1/2 seems goofy and silly and it is, it most definitely is, but it has a TON of heart, its more subtle about it and it shows MUCH later on in the final arc of the manga especially, where I genuinely got emotional reading it too. It also inspired the Big 3 I think, I've heard it did, especially Naruto and maybe One Piece I imagine and there are some really fantastic, underrated, heartfelt aspects to it.

The FMA fans who keep spamming Shou Tucker and Nina jokes are not funny at all and just sour the fanbase/series for me too. They make it seem like its all FMA is known for or should be known for too. I've seen people trash on the FMA animes a bit too much for my liking, especially Brotherhood for some reason but I never read the manga to be fair too. I really loved the FMA animes, especially Brotherhood but I do agree they do fall off hard, both animes with their seperate storylines and thus disappointing final arcs and such.

I absolutely hate Dio entirely and cannot stand how much people simp for him, how much they glorify him etc. Him being so prevalent throughout Jojo drove me crazy LOL! Damn Araki keeping me hooked!
I didn't enjoy Jojolion/Part 8 at all except for the villains and most of them were wasted and one was not given a chance to really do anything or shine, well a neutral/anti-villain maybe character or something too as well. Jojolion has one of the worst endings I've seen too and final arcs.

I really love Part 4 of Jojo and it feels like a hot take/underrated somehow too. Theoretically I should love Part 8 then too but the change of art style, the lack of expression in characters and the same face art style and toned down ridiculousness/energy of later Jojo parts especially no 8 just soured me a lot too. I think Kira is the best villain in Jojo too and so unique and fascinating, complex, layered, tragic even somehow. But I really enjoyed seeing him get what he deserved too. Even more so with Diavolo too.

This place also keeps me from giving up on One Piece when I'm most pissed off with it too.

I think Cyberpunk Edgerunners is genuinely fantastic too, its very tragic, brutal and heartfelt and made me cry like a baby. Especially with the AMAZING music it has for it too on top of it. Its such fantastic character writing and tragedy imo and fits the Cyberpunk genre/setting perfectly. Calling Edgerunners great or speaking positively of it isnt a hot take but I genuinely think its one of the best series I've seen, which to me is a hot take as I'm sure there's a lot of people who would disagree on that lol. I've seen a lot of people hating on it outright too.

I think the Dota anime is awful, I've not seen the actual episodes of it but clips of it and such and I felt completely insulted as Dota fan, especially given how INSANELY, utterly superior the League of Legends anime Arcane is. The Arcane anime is EXACTLY what I have always wanted for YEARS with League and especially Jinx and Vi and could not be happier or ask for better! Dragon's Blood, The Dota anime apart from giving us Marci and featuring at least one of my favourite heroes, was just absolutely awful. imo from what I've seen on it. I refuse to watch the anime knowing about a certain couple major spoilers for it which put me off it permanently too, especially one of them.

I'm a sucker for simpler series like Bobobo, Pop Team Epic, To Be Hero, Nagatoro and Komi-San. Granted I've yet to see Komi-san or read it but I want to someday definitely. These series are a kind of guilty pleasure especially how they tend to be received in the anime/manga community and it feels like I should be ashamed for enjoying them but they bring me so much happiness/joy and laughter, such great escapism that I just tend to ignore it and watch them and enjoy them anyway lmao.

I absolutely hate Made in Abyss and anything similar. Even Goblin Slayer, Berserk, Redo of Healer and such but its for personal reasons I will not discuss, debate or elaborate on either. I just want to get my opinion out there even though I don't feel comfortable with discussing why I hate them.

I was meant to do only bullet points but I got carried away as usual lmao. Ghostly of the 100 essays! 1000 word posts! I'm much more of a casual fan as you can tell ofc and it shows in my post especially above.

Agree on Jojolion. I felt heavily whelmed after finishing it. There were some interesting set ups woth the Higashikata family and Rock Humans in general but it all fell flat.

Toru is also one of the wprst villains in the franchise. His motives never really stuck with me. The Head Doctor/Wonder of U should've been some sort of independent Stans (like Chariot Requiem) since it is what gave the part any semblence of suspense.

--Bleach is goated and TYBW is based for most part.

--Naruto is far better than one piece minus ennies lobby and marineford arc

2. Ichigo not having a big goal is why he’s a more relatable character and is the best protagonist of the big 3

AoT and Demon Slayer are overrated asf - both are mid.
AOT minus ending is one of the best anime/manga though. It is rightfully overrated

Completely agree man. I was so foolishly hyped for Hato and especially Kaato. I absolutely hated Joshuu but his stand was great and I expected big things and a redemption for him. There was that weird flash forward storyline with Norisuke. It was just such a mess. Rock Human were a dope concept, I liked that. Like SBRverse version of Pillar Men but no as good lol.

Aye I agree about Tooru. I would have rathered it was just the Head Doctor. Tooru was just so flat for me. Kaato or Joubin would have been much better imo. If not Head Doctor ofc. An independent Stand would have been MUCH better! Oh god! I thought we were gonna get that with all the setup with the mysterious Head Doctor too. Chariot Requiem is the perfect example, that was an INSANE moment and I thought we would get more stuff like that in Jojo but apparently not? I don't remember anyway. Chariot Requiem was fucking nuts, love that part. Amazing design and such too!

Lol Stan btw haha. Just thought of a parody of Stan by Eminem but with a Jojo twist now!

(Verse 1)
Dear Mr. Araki, I wrote you but you still ain't callin'
I left my Stand, my name, and my number at the bottom
I sent two letters back in autumn, you must not've got 'em
There probably was a problem at the post office or somethin'
Sometimes I scribble addresses too sloppy when I jot 'em
But anyways, screw it, what's been up, man? How's the writing?
I'm in love with Stands, they got me up all night fightin'
I've watched every episode, every Stand user I'm likin'
I even got a tattoo of my favorite Stand, Star Platinum
I got a picture of Dio too, man, I admire that guy
I've been tryin' to use my Stand power, but it's just a lie
Sometimes I sit in my room and imagine I can fly
But deep down, I know I'm just an ordinary guy

(Chorus)
I'm your biggest fan, I'll follow you until the end
Just a Stand user, lost in a world that won't comprehend
You gotta call me, man, I'll be your number one friend
Sincerely yours, Stan, P.S. We should Stand battle again

(Verse 2)
Dear Mr. Araki, I'm gettin' older, I'm a Stand user now
I've seen every Stand ability, every bizarre power
And I love it, it's so insane, it's like I'm in a dream
But lately, I can't control my Stand, it's ripping at the seams
I'm practicin' my ORA ORAs, but they're weak, it seems
My friends tell me to stop, but I'm obsessed, it's extreme
I even tried to summon my Stand by the moonbeam
But it ain't workin', and I'm fallin' apart at the seam

(Chorus)
I'm your biggest fan, I'll follow you until the end
Just a Stand user, lost in a world that won't comprehend
You gotta call me, man, I'll be your number one friend
Sincerely yours, Stan, P.S. We should Stand battle again

(Bridge)
Dear Mr. I'm-Too-Good-to-Respond-to-Fans
This'll be the last Stand letter I ever send your ass
It's been six months and still no word, I don't deserve it?
I know you got my letters, Araki, I saw the receipts, nerd
I loved you, man, I followed you like a devout disciple
But you just left me hanging, feeling suicidal
I hope you know that when you see me, you'll feel remorseful
Cause now I've become a Stand user gone full hostile

(Verse 3)
Dear Mister, "I'm too good for Stand users"
Now I'm too far gone, I'm a Stand abuser
I killed my family and friends, Stand battles for amusement
But it's your fault, Araki, you left me in this confusion
So now I'll make you pay, I'll show you true power
With my twisted Stand abilities, I'll make this world cower
You're gonna regret the day you ignored my cries
When I bring the Jojo universe to its demise

(Chorus)
I used to be your biggest fan, I followed you until the end
Just a Stand user, lost in a world that wouldn't comprehend
But now I'm your worst nightmare, your deadliest foe, my friend
Sincerely yours, Stan, P.S. Prepare for our final Stand battle, my end

for the demon slayer bit, even calling demon slayer mid is giving it too much credit honestly. Even the fights are boring as fuck.

Disclaimer I've only watched the first 3 seasons but there wasn't a single well written fight so far.
I also watched only up season 2 but then watched on youtube one of the final fights against upper moon 1 and it was good.

The fights are bloody, have teamwork, characters get exhausted and they sacrifice their lives to just land 1 hit on the demon.
It shows perfectly how to fight an overpowered enemy with a teamwork. It also doesn't have weaklings tanking attacks from much stronger character with no damage

Unlike in rooftop fight for example where they attacked one after another and attacks from yonko dealt no damage to fucking rookies, they would just get few dirt specs on their cheek
-L was significantly smarter than Light, Light is my fave character but he had a massive advantage and still barely squeaked by with a victory thanks to some fuck ups from other characters (not even from L directly).
Damn, I also wanted to write this but was too lazy lol

Light telling Ryuk to change the rules of the notebook will always be one of the biggest bullshits in anime history. The author literally had to change the rules in order for L to not win.
L was dealing with supernatural and still basically caught Light but author had to bullshit everything up.

Then after L's death for some reason those dumbass cops didn't investigate fully in the 13 day rule to see if it was fake like L thought right before he conveniently died for no reason.
-Death Note didn't take as massive a dip in quality after L's death as people like to believe, the anime glossed over a lot of details from the 2nd half of the manga which leads to this opinion becoming popular. Obviously you can't top L, but it was still like an excellent read all the way till the end.
Well if you were anime only like me, it definitely dipped massively.

-there was a random ass shinigami that conveniently told everything to Mello and took back one of the notebooks
-The dude who somehow rewrote ENTIRE death note that was used for like 5 years in 1 NIGHT with PERFECT handwrite where an expert couldn't tell the difference. FUCK OUTTA HERE lmao
-pretty boring characters

If they consider themselves family then they are family, nobody other than Oda can say otherwise.
Author can also say that Nami considers Arlong like family, doesn't mean it's good or makes sense.

That's why there's such a thing as objectively good and bad writing.
What we see isn’t just their whole lives, there have been timeskips that would go a week or two forward with stuff that we didn’t see. Your argument could be “If it wasn’t written, it never happened!” but the fun part about storytelling is not knowing what the author doesn’t tell you. It leaves room for imagination, and imagination is what keeps stories alive.
lmao fuck outta here

By your logic author doesn't have write the story at all, just imagine them finding one piece, you gook.
Stop trying to write for author with your headcanon.

Strawhats are strangers, they don't know anything about each other. Every arc they find out something knew about each other.

Remember how they reunited in after 2 years? They basically just said "hey". No hugs, tears or anything. They acted as co-workers seeing each other after long break.
Shit, fucking Luffy considered those fake strawhats Zoro and Sanji the real ones. That's how little he knows about his crew

The closest we've got is Nami hugging Usopp and Chopper, but that's basically it.
They literally spent more time with strangers for 2 years than with each other. That's fucking weird. Mihawk and Perona should be closer for Zoro than Luffy and Nami.

You always find a way to be rude in your replies. :laughmoji:

You can’t call people strangers if you know something about them, especially if you live in a ship and are around each other often.

Also, Luffy is kinda dumb. That’s the joke I think, but I don’t like it either, you know.

Don't say stupid shit and you won't get insulted. "author doesn't have to write anything, just imagine it, bro" lmao

I said they were basically strangers.
I know my co-workers doesn't mean I consider them family or close friends. They are basically strangers that I know a little bit more about than random people on streets.

We know why this wouldn’t happen.

Why are you quoting this? I did not say that, and certainly not as foolishly as you wrote it. :crazwhat:

If done well, leaving certain things up to the viewer can allow for them to expand and create their own scenarios (I already provided an example).

I said they were basically strangers.
I know my co-workers doesn't mean I consider them family or close friends. They are basically strangers that I know a little bit more about than random people on streets.
You don’t live with your co-workers, do you? No matter how bad Oda might write it, the message he tries to get across is that the Straw Hats are like a family.

Oda could’ve written them a lot better, and I wish he had. He still has time, although not much is left.

There’s a lot of things strangers wouldn’t do, so I disagree with you when you say that the Straw Hats are basically strangers. They certainly weren’t like that pre-timeskip, anyway.

You had Natsu soloing two dudes who were said to be stronger than his own guild and they were going all out in Dragon Force while he was in base and he smacked them in the mouth with little to no resistance. This is literally akin to Base Goku beating Vegeta and Gohan at full power during the Cell Saga lol.

Or literally any Erza fight lol, do I even need to pull up the receipts for that?
That's Why I never wank MC , Their plot armour is just absolutely ridiclous

Most big-hit modern Shonen are overrated.

Ichigo is a passable MC, he doesn’t follow the typical Shonen formula and is also lacking in certain areas however he isn’t as annoying as MCs that have commonly follow the dumbo archetype.

It’s definitely not underrated, there’s a lot of people that still like it despite all the flaws and horrible writing. However Fairy Fail still failed even when it came to fun. Scenes like this take any fun outta of the picture:

well,if you care about power scaling...

-Sakura is far useful than most if not all OP females
  • top tier medical ninja
  • looked stronger than Naruto at beginning of shippuden
  • beat Akatsuki when kage level characters got easily beat by Sasori
  • was useful in the war by healing everyone and keeping Naruto alive
  • surpassed 1 of the Sannin
  • Probably physically strongest in the verse
  • Has temporary immortality
  • has so much chakra reserves that it's possible to travel dimensions
  • was pivotal in beating Kaguya (final villain)
Nami fans would jizz if Nami could even accomplish 5% of what Sakura did in Naruto or even be relevant in the story the way Sakura was.
So far Nami's only purpose is to read a literal arrow pointing to another island and act as a damsel in distress. Literally useless
And yes, Sakura would easily beat Big Mom 1v1.

-Yugioh GX and 5Ds is FAR better than OG Yugioh. Shit didn't even follow rules most of the time, had boring plot and main character's deck is so random, with no theme whatsoever, it's unplayable

-whichever animator does this nonsensical sliding around shit should have his balls cut off and fired from animating anything ever again

Tired of seeing this nonsense starting to catch on in other anime and normies praising this garbage as good animation

Weordly enough I agree on that animation point.
It's a lazy way to make a scene look dynamic but all it does is make it even more nonsensical and hard to follow

Also, the cubing that happens when somebody/something strikes the ground is beyond tired.

Now, some of my hot takes:

- Zoro is the best anime/manga character ever, only Guts and Saito come close
- HxH is awesome no doubt, still its slightly overrated. The new arc of HxH has been crap so far
- Most of the Zhao invasion arc in Kingdom was boring, the ending was brilliant though
- Berserk should discontinue now that Miura has passed away
- Slam Dunk>Kuroko No Basket
- Demon Slayer is mid

Fair point. At the same time, you cant call a shitty manga/anime better than One Piece without any valid reason.
I disagree with Berserk, the guy that is in charge of finishing the manga knows the cannon ending.I want to know how Guts story ends, despite knowing it could have been soooo much better if Miura was the one writing and drawing stuff.

Nartuo vs Pain was fucking ridiculous in the anime.
