He could have killed Shigaraki and kept OFA + all the extra quirks. But he gave up OFA to try to save a mass murderer only for Shigaraki to die anyways.

That kid was supposed to be new Shigaraki. It is hinted he was a contingency by AFO bcs he just like Shigi got a quirk that didn't fit his families genetics

But unlike Shigi this kid was saved by his grandma thus preventing new Shigi

Other than the Deku stuff, it was really disappointing we couldn't see what the other students were doing.

Also Deku's treatment at the end is just sad lol.
