No she didn't, she choosed her OWN way to deal with the circonstance. She didn't replaced her father or even choose the way of her father that's completely a missunderstanding of her character. She became the OPPOSITE of what her father wanted her to become.

Kaido wanted Yamato to be a fascist leader, she became instead a positive gardian.

The entire purpose of Yamato is that she became the OPPOSITE of her dad. A positive guardian deity.
Your earlier claim was that her story was about her choosing a freedom diferent than going out to sea, then it was about not following what daddy wanted, somehow that translates now into she was always meant to be the opposite of her dad, "a positive" guardian whatever that means.

I mean lol ,sure bro

Also she choose to stay in Wano due to the circusntances of Kaido's defeat and lack of protection from the WG, it is the literally opposite of freedom.

No.
I'm making a difference between her character arc and what Oda is saying through this character arc.

The character arc: Choosing her own path
The message of the arc: The greatest liberty is the liberty to choose.

Hm no. Freedom doesn't mean you can't be influenced by your environment. It means that you still have a choice.

Her choice of staying in Wano is predicated on the fact, that if she leaves, Wano is fucked

If you had to stay home or someone you love dies, you still have the choice to leave, i doubt you'd feel free to leave your house tho

In fact here's what she actually wants and would choose if not for her newfound duties

We don't know that, Wano could be safe (as fan we love saying that it won't, but it could) the choice of Yamato is therefore a real choice.

What is not a choice in the other hand is something like what Pedro had to deal with. Exploding himself was not a choice, the ship was doomed to fall into the hands of the big Mom's pirate. The one responsible for Pedro's death are therefore the Big Mom Pirate but most of all, Perospero who gave no choice to Pedro.

Bro she literally says she can't abandon everyone because of people like GreenBull comming to Wano and that neither her or Luffy would enjoy their adventures if they were worrying about Wano but that she still really wants to be one of them.

Just read the spoiler i linked.

If Wano was safe she would go with Luffy, she wanted to leave, Yamato wasn't free to choose and stayed out of guilt/duty/whatever

She was, like I said, a choice is not only the things we want to make, it's also the thing we have to make. And yamato had the choice not to do it. Wano was not in danger anymore even if we as a fan were still worried for it. Yamato had a choice. A choice between the best thing to do and her motivation. And she made the best choice.

Yamato won't join the crew

Yamato didn't have a character. We all assumed that her development would involve shedding the Oden shit and becoming her own thing but she never did. She still clung to Oden's image which was very contradictory to some of Wano's main themes such as legacy and identity.

Those who accepted who they were and focused on the present and future got rewarded(Luffy and Momo, Robin etc). Those who clung to Oden's image and the past got fucked for it(Kaido, The Scabbards fighting Kaido, Orochi, WsW, Black Maria etc.)

Yamato herself was literally rejected by Luffy and Momo when she came at them as Oden, only getting their full attention when she addressed herself as Yamato.Guess pretending you're someone else instead of your person is what's good now 🤷
I mean, the only people that really rejected Yamato being Oden consistently was Kaido, but he's a villain anyway and Yamato pretty much disapproved of everything he did.

Now, in regards to Yamato seeking approval from Oden's people in wanting them to accept her as Oden, however, is another story.

Atp I think it's clear no one else's joinin. Yamato was the only post-TS char' (excluding Jinbe) who had a decent chance of joinin the crew. The story's ending A/W so I ain't sure there'd be a point adding new crew members.

Nah, Yamato never had a chance, she was written since the beginning as staying in Wano. Carrot on the other hand was much more uncertain.

The Sol King
I hope nobody joins at this point, Jinbei is someone who was obvious to join ever since Fishman Island had to wait until Wano to officially join the crew, which is a big mistake from Oda. Anybody else joining now won't fit with the crew.

Popping in to say carrot is still cute. No writer leaves the choice to become leader offscreened when wano was all about choices and not being pushed into something. And once again that fat elephant is an important plot point so we will see the minks again o3o

Carrot wasn’t an uncertainty. It was clear that she was not ready to be a pirate.
No, on the contrary, chapter 888 proved that wrong.

Yeah, you're prob right if we see it from Oda's perspective. But the fact she actively wanted to join gave her a chance, at least from our POV.
For the average readers maybe.. But the moment Yamato said to Luffy "so, I figured that you would let me ride on your ship", I warned EVERYONE that Oda was creating a subversion and that it was a narrative proof that Yamato was doomed to stay on Wano. Oda repeated that subversion multiple time and each time it became clearer and each time I doubled my warnings, but I was laughed at lol.

You guys have no excuses at this point. You were warned, I went so far as to create an entire article HERE explaining in detail why subversive affirmation must be taken seriously (in a narrative context).

Wasn't there afaic lol. Wasn't obvious for everyone, props to you if you saw it coming. But Carrot didn't join either so Oda equally fooled you, albeit in a different way.

Carrot didn't get any fb or dream highlighted, which is usually what Oda's goin for to introduce a new nakama.
