Maaaan this place is dead. I miss @CarrotForNakama .
Don't worry, C4N will come back when he's in the mood to troll. That's pretty much what the remaining Carrot fans are here for.

As for the thread, its rightfully dead since it's obvious who the next strawhat is. What discussion is there left to have? Tama, the 8 year old who's also been offscreen since she gave her order? Vivi, who's not even in this arc? Momo??

I'm not here to troll. I'm here to remind you that Carrot has always been the best choice in order for you not to throw a tentrum once she stowaway the end of Wano

Just a reminder that the stuff was always there and that you missed it lol

:optimistic:
Larrot neg diff'd off Perospero despite attacking him 2 on 1

:kobeha::kobeha::kobeha::kobeha::kobeha:

Larrots best feat to date is beating fodder. She'd probably get mid diff'd off Chopper.

I think I'm realizing why some are having a hard time feeling emotionally invested in Yamato. It's probably mainly due to how the emotions/moments she has had haven't really been used to connect to Luffy and the others. Like with this moment where she's hurt and doubting her abilities, instead of having Luffy look directly at her and reassure her that everything will turn out fine in defeating her warmongering dad, he instead looks away and simply tells her to help out Momo. It's definitely not like with Arlong Park where Luffy looks directly at Nami in her pleas for help. So yeah, more than just having characters experience emotion, it should also be about how that emotion is used to connect characters together, which may be yet to be seen in Yamato's case.

This was a huge let down. I figured we’d get a scene like when Usopp fought against the franky family but luffy didn’t care at all.

Honestly, I think it's better this way. Yamato is a character who wants to protect others, not be protected herself. Luffy entrusting Momo to her was more what she needed than pity. She already believes in him and stated from the begining that her goal was to hold Kaido back until he arrives, which she acomplished. A thank you and being trusted with more responsibilty is what she deserved more than tears or anger on her behalf. Especially since she still has plenty of energy to keep fighting. This is more like how he treated Zoro when he recruited him, fitting for a fighter like Yamato.

I was just hoping for an acknowledgement of her strength from Luffy

Even that moment Luffy had with Kinemon in Chapter 1000 where he literally walks past two Emperors to see Kinemon bleeding and crying on the ground could give some people the idea of Kinemon joining the crew because of how connected it feels, even though Kinemon hasn't said he wants to sail away with Luffy. That arguably feels more connected than the moments Luffy and Yamato have had so far.

To be fair, he's had like 300 chapters within the story with Luffy. Yamato is a much, much new addition.

Yeah, she does seem like someone who genuinely wants to protect others and perhaps not just because of Oden, despite her saying Oden doing this or that, in that it's just not words, but also from the heart.

And I get that Luffy has recognized Yamato's capabilities enough since he thanked her for holding Kaidou back before he could hurt anyone else beyond the Scabbards. It may or may not play into a possible role relating to guarding/back-up after Wano too.

As for Zoro, he too arguably didn't get a big emotional connection from the audience between them, him, and Luffy until he got his ass kicked by Mihawk and proclaimed Luffy as the would-be Pirate King in his oath, because he definitely gave off a different feeling there compared to his and Luffy's interaction in the Romance Dawn arc.
