Jew D. Boy

I Can Go Lower
I don’t want Momo to join but this was his character arc from udon to onigashima

And idc about Tama joining. They would be a burden
If Yamato’s got a Zoan DF like it seemed a couple of chapters ago, it’d be pretty funny to see her get wild and rowdy on the Sunny before Tama uses some of her cheeky dango to calm her :gokulaugh:

If it works on a true Zoan we got bigger problems. But Yamato is already a simp for Momo

If Momo and Tama ask him to join, Luffy will respond to them like what Shanks did to him.
Let’s hope so

Meanwhile the anticipation builds and builds for the Carrot fight. It's the only battle Oda's completely hidden and chosen not to reveal any insight about. All other characters Oda gave an update on. We've seen:

Roof piece
All the straw hat vs
Chopper making medicine
Drake vs Apoo
Marco vs King (Queen suspiciously absent, likely after Sanji)
Jack
Bepo
Wire
Hyoguro

As you can see, Oda is willing to give panels updating us on the battles of completely irrelevant characters like Wire in Kids crew, yet it seems he's intentionally avoiding giving the slightest spoiler into how Carrot's fight is going. The reasons for this could be huge for Carrot. Bottom line is that at this point it seems like Oda definetly has a special plan for the fight that he believes warrants him hiding that single fight out of everything happening in Onigashima.
Exactly right! We're officially at 10 chapters without an update on Carrot, and now there is no excuse: Oda has gone out of his way to update us on just about everybody EXCEPT her, Wanda and Perospero (and Fukurokuju, who we know is up to something). If Carrot's absence two chapters ago when even Bepo had a quick scene was mildly odd, her blatant disappearance here is downright insane. And I. Am. LOVING IT!!!

Some folks may have taken her disappearance to be a mark of her lack of importance, or a sign she'll ultimately fail. But Oda has seen fit to make her a constant presence among the crew, one who's even saved them on occasion. For her to be gone now in the midst of this climax isn't a sign of neglect, but of preparation for her big moment.

Up to now, Carrot has been like the ocean at the beach: constant, normal, unassuming save for the occasional wave. But what happens when the water suddenly disappears from the beach? That water ain't gone: it's churning into a tsunami. And now that it's painfully obvious that's what Oda's doing, I honestly hope he holds her back a while more because when her time does come, her wave is gonna be a sight to see.

Yamato’s total lack of awareness on social etiquette as shown in this latest chapter is the type of weird quirk I would expect from a SH. Just imagine her and Sanji’s relationship. Sanji’s gonna die of blood loss before we even reach Laughtale. Lol

It’s also starting to become quite worrying for the Carrot4Nakama advocation since she hasn’t had any kind of screen time for almost the last 10 chapters. A common theme that all potential SH recruits share is that they are very prominent within the arc they are set to join. However, Carrot has been nothing more than a background character for most of Wano and Oda continues to keep her an afterthought in these recent chapters. She’s going to need to become a central player in Act 4 to make up for the lost screen time.

Just to be clear, I’m not a Carrot “hater” as I am personally indifferent to her joining. But if I were a Carrot4Nakama advocate, I would be really bothered and worried about her chances right now.

Wow lets recruit every women and children to the crew, after all it is Biden's era LOL
Why not recruit Joe Biden as well? #Biden4Nakama

This. Also, in the same arc they're joining :

- interact with Luffy personally & directly
- helped by Luffy (of the arc problem)
- showcase their unique skill

These three points exists in all SH "joining officially" arc, I'm too lazy to list each one of them.

I'm absolutely excited rather than worried. Holding a character back to bring them back in later for dramatic effect is right in Oda's wheelhouse. She has a foe to fight, a mentor to avenge and still has to understand what that mentor gave up his life for. The fact Oda is waiting to show us even a hint of the outcome tells me that it's something worth waiting for.

What's always been interesting about Carrot is that she doesn't have much backstory like the other character do, but that her story has been built up in real time: sets out on an adventure, loses a loved one, has to save her new friends and find a greater purpose. It's really intriguing stuff for me, and I'm happy to wait and see where this big battle for her leads.

^ this is what happens when you drink the koolaid, Don't drink the Koolaid.

I'm not sure what you're arguing. Yes, it's possible that all this leads to is being another ally. The same thing could be said about Yamato who you seem to be rooting for and who is helping Momo a lot more than Luffy right now.

What Carrot has more of is actual camaraderie with the crew. She's bonded with Chopper, Nami, Sanji, Brook and Jinbe, and the moment that made me realize she has a shot was when Pedro died and Luffy called for her help along with the rest of his crew, even after she got pummeled by Katakuri. Luffy does trust her and know who she is, and she has a chance to seal the deal, chance being the key word here.

Yamato, by comparison, has only spoken to Luffy and Franky, and they barely know who he is. Luffy obviously trusts Yamato anyway, just like he immediately trusted Drake and even lousy Caribou. Yamato has strong points over Carrot, certainly. But if you're gonna make the Grand Fleet argument against Carrot, it's just as strong a case against Yamato as well.

I admire your optimism. But I’m not convinced.
