While I actually agree with you on this argument, I do feel the need to point out that the official translation changes the wording of Peros's speech so that he doesn't actually say he would have lost. He just says they needed su long to "stand a chance", and it comes across as a taunt about their power up being unreliable.

Yeah you’re right. Looking at the official scans, the wording is different from what I remember. I must have been recalling the fan translation.

Agree... But what's there for them to talk anyway? That her lopsided loss at her best with assist is a great sign that she'll join the crew because she's overly weak and the crew needs someone that weak and useless?
