You could say the same about Carrot.
Not at all.
She's been introduced since more than 2 and a half arcs ago, yet she has yet to interact with every member of the straw hats.
And what's your point? That she should need to have a 1:1 interaction with every single member before she joins the crew??
She's the most immersed a character has ever been in the straw hats without officially joining.

Yamato despite never meeting in person every member of the straw hats yet, can already recognize them from a glance and has taken a special interest in them, like when she recognized Franky. So saying that Yamato doesn't know any of the straw hats is false.
Obviously she knows of them, but she doesn't actually know a single one of them personally. Everyone knows of the straw hats. They're kind of a big deal at this point. But the people that matter to the actual crew themselves are their friends who they know and have spent time with. Not rando fangirls with mental issues.
And like @Garp the Fist already said, Yamato also personally knows Ace, she understands Luffy's pain and loss just like every other straw hat. Carrot doesn't.
Garp's point never made much sense to me since anyone can understand Luffy's pain by simply knowing what it's like to lose someone close to you. Robin, Franky and Brook had never met Ace so the argument that all the straw hats had a personal connection to him simply crumbles right there.

Carrot's ordeal with Pedro allows her to empathise with how Luffy must've been feeling at that time with his own loss.
You call Yamato forced because she's introduced too late into the arc, when Carrot was forced onto the Sunny literally one chapter AFTER Zou when she snuck on the ship.
Carrot joining the WCI crew on the Sunny wasn't forced at all. Anyone paying attention during the end of Zou would've come to the very obvious conclusion that Carrot was being set up to join the group. Yamao on the other hand had absolutely zero foreshadowing, hints or anything before her introduction, most likely because of the possibility that her character had only just come to Oda's mind a few months prior.
You cite the lack of interactions of Yamato with the straw hats on Wano, but that's happening right now.
Lol. Sure.
Yamato is not just another Tom, Dick or Harry.
I'm talking about in the opinion of the straw hats. Not you the reader. There are 10 straw hats, 8 of which have never even met Yamao. Out of the two that have, Franky doesn't know who she is and Luffy can't remember her name.

She's quite literally a rando to the overwhelming majority of the crew. I think some have been mislead by their own perceptions of the character and so they can't see her from the straw hat's perspectives. At the moment, Yamao likely means nothing more to Luffy than say X Drake. Just another strong enemy who appeared out of nowhere and is willing to help out. In absolutely no way, shape or form does Luffy have the type of relationship, or even see her in the same light as he did for his actual crew mates in the moments before their joining.

There's more to the story than simply what a character that was introduced 5 seconds ago demands. And right now the straw hats haven't shown an ounce of interest in her. In large fact because Oda doesn't care to have them interact with one another and instead pushed her to bond with Momo and Shinobu for 80% of her screentime.

Maybe I was late, but how is Luffy going to deal with the fact that Yamato read Oden's diary and everything that was written about the secret of the one piece, the secret of the D's and lost century?

Yamato even knows that Luffy is the man who would arrive 20 years later to take down Kaido. Yamato in the crew is like a dull shortcut, in which Luffy has already shown immense disinterest, to the point of saying that he would give up being a pirate if anyone in the crew knew anything
I wish ussop has asked anyway :tchpepe:

But Holdem is going to join..
Pekoms homeage. Holdemage. RIP

I saw some people on Reddit and Twitter trying to force the idea of Carrot fulfilling Pedo's plot and joining PK crew ( Luffy ).

Youre late. If you look at how Oden wrote on panel, and if you look at the wording used in the final scene, you will see that the likelier outcome is he didnt write any major spoilers

This is what I think too, however, I started wondering if there’s more when Momo read it and said “I can’t die.”
Because hes probably Uranus. Again, nothing Luffy carea about

She's the most immersed a character has ever been in the straw hats without officially joining.
And yet she has the personality of a random WCI homie..

Don't forget Wanda there even if you're trying to do like Zoro with Kokoro and erase her from your memory.

Looks almost certain to be Yamato now, Carrot only joins if we get 11 members of the crew after Luffy which might actually be possible.

but it depends on blackbeards crew as we all know luffy's crew and blackbeards is a mirror so luffy needs 10 to face the 10 titanic captains but there's is literally a "dark" horse in the running. If Stronger were to eat a human human fruit model then Blackbeards crew would have 11 major combatatants to be faced instead of just 10. Chopper and Carrot are pretty close so those 2 vs. Doc Q and Stronger seems like a cool possibility.

wether carrot joins or not I still really want stronger to have a human human fruit model

Like I think the journal will have one big whopper reveal in it, at least on par with reveals like Roger knowing the Ancient Language/Shirahoshi is an Ancient Weapon/the World Government is ruled by Im.

And that’ll be Joy Boy, Kozuki, Wano related, since all these things have been brought up in Wano.

And since this arc is so important, and Laugh Tale is so close, this could be the biggest info drop we’ve had so far, as a push into the final stage of the story

But as a spoiler to everything? Nah, not happening.
I find it really hilarious that Oden, who is capable of reading Poneglyph, decided to put “very important things” in his journal which is flimsy pack of papers where: 1. can be destroyed easily, if he really puts many very important information in it; 2. If it falls to wrong hands it could be really dangerous (like World Govt or BBP) and: 3. If it really held very important things like One Piece existence, Kaido 100% would have taken it from Yamato to find One Piece. If Oden’s journal holds very important things, Poneglyph would be useless & Robin is not needed in the crew then. It’s a basic, and simple understanding, yet anti-Yamato can’t really comprehend this.

The counter logic of this, is: why did Oden, capable of reading & understanding Poneglyph, put so much very important information, like One Piece location, will of D, lost century in scrap pieces of paper? What’s the purpose of Poneglyph if everything is in Oden’s journal? Isn’t it too dangerous & risky, if he put so much important information in a book with normal language where literally everybody can take it for bad purpose, or maybe destroy it?

You call Yamato is forced because she appeared out of nowhere (this is what you said), when in fact Kaido himself hinted about her many chapters before her introduction. Her meeting with Luffy had already been in the making ever since Yamato met Ace. Carrot on the other hand was literally introduced out of nowhere when he first attacked Zoro. Then she boarded the Sunny out of nowhere as well. Don't be a hypocrite please, one the one hand you call the lack of Yamato's interaction with the crew forced because she also suddenly appeared and is now asking Luffy to join the crew.

Yamato has been waiting for Luffy ever since Ace died. Yamato learned about Luffy's arrival to Wano well beforehand, and intercepted and met Luffy when he was fighting Ulti. She then said to Luffy and i quote: "I have been waiting for you." Kaido sent out the Topi Roppo to find Yamato before the raid happened, yet Yamato herself personally came to find Luffy in the castle when she learned Luffy was there, risking herslef to be found out by the Topi Roppo sooner than later. How is that in any way forced? It was a planned meeting in the making that also came with risks on Yamato's part all along. Compared to Carrot popping out of nowhere?

Are you seriously suggesting that Yamato asking Luffy to join is forced?

Carrot doesn't know anything about the Straw Hats either before boarding their ship, your point is moot. Carrot right now still doesn't know something of every straw hat because she left with just half the Straw Hat crew to WCI. Once Yamato joins she'll get to know more about the crew naturally just like every other Straw Hat. Jinbe who's already a Straw Hat doesn't know about every Straw Hat and Robin knew no one besides Luffy when she joined, should they also not have joined then? And even after travelling with to WCI, Carrot still hasn't learned anything new worth bringing up.

Your last sentence: "Not rando fangirls with mental issues" is just a snarky comment that i'm gonna ignore. It sums up your bias and lack of objective arguments pretty well.

This here is just completely false and you're just blatantly dismissing the reality here. Ace's flashback and the world's reaction during the Marineford War Arc already showed the world's lack of understanding of who the real Ace is because of the World Government's propaganda and the stereotypes people had for Roger, that he was the bane of all evil, a stereotype that carried down to his newborn son Ace. Ace also carried that stereotype and shouldered that burden and suffered as a result because of it, to the point it made him question himself it even was right for him to be born. To the outside world and the majority of the world's people, Ace was just the son of the devil. Only people who were close to him and knew the real Ace treated him like a real human being. Every Straw Hat may not have met Ace in person, but they all experienced the grief of not being by Luffy's side in his darkest and hardest moment in overcoming Ace's death. Carrot never experienced this, she met Luffy 2 years after Ace's death. She never could have understood how much Ace meant to Luffy before she met Luffy, and most likely still doesn't understand even now. Ace was the first friend that Yamato made when Ace arrived in Wano, the two fought, and they bonded. Yamato wanted to join Ace and pursue their dreams together, believing in Ace. Yamato waited for Ace on Wano for him to come back to get her but that never happened. Yamato is actually the one who is second closest to Ace behind Luffy himself compared to everyone in the Straw Hat crew. No other Straw Hat had this level of personal connection to Ace, not even the Straw Hats who met Ace in Alabasta. Not even Jinbe. Jinbe first met Ace as enemies, and only understood Luffy's pain in losing Ace when Luffy was losing his mind in grief back on the Women's Island.

The reason why having members who join Luffy's crew also understand Luffy's pain of losing Ace is important, is because in the future Luffy will have to face those responsible for Ace's death again, namely Blackbeard and his crew and Akainu and the Marines. But this time Luffy isn't alone, he will have his crew beside him to support and help him, something he didn't have 2 years ago at Marineford. And that responsibility to help Luffy while also understanding the weight and how much those fights and battles will mean to Luffy can only be understood by people who also experienced and shared Luffy's pain of losing Ace when that happened 2 years ago. The rest of the Straw Hats already regretted not being there to help Luffy when he needed them most, despite the fact that Luffy all helped each and every one of them in their hardest times. When Luffy faces Akainu and Blackbeard again with his crew, his crew will be fully dedicated to helping Luffy, both physically and emotionally, because they know why those fights are so important to Luffy, and what it means to help Luffy in those times.

So we are going to have the Straw Hats fighting Akainu and the Marines, and also 1v1 Teach and his crew. The atmosphere is intense and the emotions are high for everyone in the crew, everyone except for Carrot.

Yamato meanwhile on the other hand will actually have more emotional drive than everyone else in the crew bar Luffy since Ace actually made a promise to Yamato, and the others responsible for his death, for breaking their promise, for crushing their dreams, for possibly breaking Yamato's heart at the time- Akainu and Blackbeard will be standing right in front of her.

Will that not be an important scene and monumental moments in the story? Will Carrot be able to produce such moments and emotions? The answer is most definitely no.

Yes, but not with Ace's. carrot's emotional supply for her loss of Pedro is already used up and served their purpose when carrot fought Perospero on Wano. A fight that Carrot had to share with Wanda and the other minks, a fight that she lost and not won, and also a fight that got off-paneled i might add. Carrot's emotional ammo for the loss of Pedro have already been used up and served their intended purpose. A potential Straw Hat needs to have the emotional ammo to last till when Luffy fights Blackbeard and Akainu. Carrot has none of that kind of ammo left.

Carrot has been with the Straw Hats for more than 2 and a half arcs now and half the crew don't have opinions on carrot either. The Wano arc isn't finished yet, far from it, and things haven't even gotten started yet. The Straw Hats will know more about Yamato and form their opinions of Yamato soon enough when Yamato takes their captain's place in fighting Kaido. After all, it won't be hard to dismiss why someone from Kaido's side is rebelling and fighting against Kaido personally, and is even strong enough to clash with the seemingly unbeatable yonko who Luffy just lost to. Everyone will be interested to know who this person is. Yamato will also attract the attention of the other Worst Generation memebers like Kidd, Law, Hawkins, Drake and a good chance even CP0 who are monitoring the fights. Strong Opinions and Lasting Impressions are formed particularly when its a strong and unexpected reaction.

Carrot will never get this level of attention in the Wano Arc.

Okay this is probably the most random and useless of comments you have written thus far in this discussion. Oda pushed Yamato to Momonosuke because Momo is a main character in the Wano Arc and central to its story. Aside from defeating Kaido, protecting Momo, the heir to the Wano's throne and the person that Kaido wants to kill the most is the second most important job just behind defeating Kaido. And Luffy dedicated this job and responsibility to Yamato. Carrot can only dream of getting this level of importance, much less fighting and clashing with Kaido the yonko himself directly, instead she's sleeping with the other Minks under Perospero's candy.

If Carrot is far more important as a character to Luffy and the Straw Hats like you say she is, then Carrot should be the one protecting Momonosuke, not Yamato.

Yamato taking orders from Luffy, the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates and the story's main protagonist to protect Momonosuke, Wano's main character, against Kaido, Wano's main antagonist- will always be more important than Carrot snucking on the Sunny, biting Luffy's ears, crying for Pedro and turning to Sulong form to destroy nameless Big Mom Pirates and their ships.

Getting off-paneled together with the other Minks by Perospero, the previous arc's side antagonist who is also a side antagonist in the Wano Arc, is just the latest of Oda's lack of attention and interests for Carrot since she disappeared to the back of Wano's main story and its main characters.

Even a dead Pedro did more to Perospero than Carrot and Wanda combined.

Luffy can do the same with Yamato, she could told him, but him don't what to heard.

I wish Caribou or Ceasar joined just for the memes :kriwhat:
Caribou's chances is just as good as the grass eater's...

If Usopp can be the lookout instead of Carrot. Robin could be the scrivener at Yamato's place.
Bellamy can even do that lookout position better than the grass eater...

I don’t see Carrot’s “special skill” to be on the crew to cover her so-so fighting skill.
This... Nothing extra special about the grass eater in any way you look deep into her overall...

What opponent Carrot will be from BB pirates?
Fodders, or the grasses at Hachinosu... :wellwell:

Maybe I was late, but how is Luffy going to deal with the fact that Yamato read Oden's diary and everything that was written about the secret of the one piece, the secret of the D's and lost century?
When Yamato told Luffy about the journal containing "important stuffs", Luffy never complained...

This is impossible. Oden documented the entire journey to laugh tale. Perhaps, the only coherent answer you can have, is the coincidence that Yamato has read only part of the book about wano.
The journey, not what's in Laugh Tale... Oden has lots of respect to Roger... How they got there doesn't weigh that much, especially if those routes from 20 years ago are now different (you can't expect the world to be the same within a 20-year gap)...

By the way, assuming that you write a diary, do you usually write an entire spoiler of an awesome movie that you watched in full detail to your diary? As someone who did wrote a diary (and read others'), I never saw any, if any, they're more of a reaction... In Oden's case, we already saw what he wrote about Laugh Tale... And that's no different than Robin reading Joyboy's apology...

Oda isn't stupid...

This is what I think too, however, I started wondering if there’s more when Momo read it and said “I can’t die.”
That's likely Oden's conclusion/reaction... More related to Wano than "the spoilers"... And those Wano stuffs are likely be tackled in this arc as well...

1. In literature and film you don’t give out the biggest secret before the climax of the story. Those things are revealed in the climax

2. It’s not logical to write the world secrets in a flimsy piece of paper. If the journal was supposed to be passed down to Momo or kept by Oden while he waits for Joy Boy, it will probably contain information pertaining to Wano and Momo’s power considering Joy Boy will still need to go to Laugh Tale
This... Plain and simple...

This... Oden will never jeopardize stuffs...
