Yamao is damsel, the arc princess who couldn't do anything for 20 years until the Pirate Jesus comes to save the day.
Zoro-already tie up trying to protecting a little girl he was about to be killed
Nami-couldn't do anything for 10 years against arlong
Ussop- couldn't handle dealing with Captain kuro and his crew by himself
Sanji- had deal with someone betrayed him when he gave guy some food. His good for nothing family didn't care about him except for his sister.
Chopper-was Consider to be monsters by many people
Robin-was wanted criminal by world government for 20 years
Franky-had a lot self-blame for 8 years
Brook-had his shadow was stolen five years ago
Jimbei-was put into prison because he opposed the war in marineford.
I guess all the strawhats in their own ways were damsel distress

The build up is a little bit different but at it's simple core their dreams are the same and quite generic: to travel and have adventures. I have no idea why you wrote me a wall of text to make it sound like they aren't. I didn't even say it might prevent someone from joining the crew. How about switching off the defensive mode about literally everything related to Yamato? It's becoming tiresome.
Not a little bit different. The core of Yamatos dream is to be like Oden, to live free, which includes leaving her lifelong prison and going out to sea. The difference in revelation also, in a flashback with Ace. We got no inspiration like that for Carrot, she was just a kid that "wanted to go to an adventure (even) once", after she sneaked on board.

You call that a wall of text, two paragraphs? I mean if you want a wall of text, try someone else, i dont have so much time really. I just pointed out what i felt needed to be said

Oh boy. Just like I said, YES the build up and trigger (oden, Ace, pedro, whatever else) oda used for the characters is different, but it follows the same pattern and fulfills in exactly the same way - by hopping up on a ship and setting sail, an adventure at the sea without particular goal or destination. The hell are you arguing about there, just to have the last word like a little kid?

Pedro is no trigger for Carrot, she has none, shes the one you have described in the bolded part. Yamato was given build up exactly to avoid having a dream of a goalless adventure like that. And she keeps getting it, we are in the middle of her intro arc. You already conclude what her dream is like so thats your problem not mine. Also youre getting a little too worked up over nothing

How Tama fulfills her dream?
How Carrot fulfills her dream?
How Yamato fulfills her dream?
The answer to all of them is by setting sail to the sea and adventuring with no particular destination. You disagree? Just a simple answer please y/n

There is no "new" goal post. Go BACK into the discussion, that as ALWAYS been our problem. Sigran, I will respect you, but you really have to be careful now. This is not a good argument.

The argument still stays strong. Luffy called Yamato YamaO, this is one he does with ally like Law or Kid. Yamato corrected him and Luffy didn't listened showing here a CLEAR sign that Luffy ONLY consider Yamato as an ally and nothing more.

You can blame the story if you want, (don't do it) but those are the fact, plain and simple.
No, I've been here longer than you have. This debate has been going on for months before you came here. The narrative was that Luffy never nicknamed a strawhat, and after the panel of Chopper, it became that Luffy never nicknamed a strawhat after he knew their name. I don't honestly recall you weighing in on this argument much, I just tagged you because you call her Yamao sometimes. It was really more directed at Dizzy than you.

That said the name argument is getting into semantics. We've shown that Luffy calls crewmates by nicknames even once he knows their names. It's clearly not an issue of respect given that Luffy thanked Yamato with a huge smile in the same sentence. He's probably just confused about her gender. Saying he doesn't use a nickname a second time after being corrected just seems like gate keeping. Just because something hasn't happened before doesn't mean it can't happen in the future.

- The problem with yamato. Is if her dream is only to be oden. She is doing it right now. So I hope that she stops of being oden and she obtain a new dream.

- The problem with carrot is that she lived the adventure that she wanted.

- The problem of momo is the dream of being the shogun which is the same dream of tama and a wano with food.

The topic is always the same. Who has a better sad past ? (For me is yamato)

In conclusion. The dreams of liberty and being oden. Are dreams so easy to fulfill. We have to wait If Yamato or even carrot have a better dream.

That's very stupid of you then. Do you aware I'm asking about the technical side of resolving the matter? Not about what in the characters' heads? So tell me how I'm wrong about their dreams being fulfilled by setting sail to the sea and adventuring. Do you know an alternative way, perhaps?

Her dream is to live free like Oden. And she thinks the only way to achieve that is to go to the sea with Luffy and have adventures. It's literally might be considered as fulfilled the day she sails away and I don't like how vague it is. Oda wasn't being creative or specific there I must say. Same with Tama. And Carrot. He uses the same thing and Ace over and over again. Can they like, dream about something specific like finding the cure from all diseases or drawing the map of the world?

But you're. Defensive lol. Regardless the different approach oda used with each character their dreams are the same thing - to go to the sea and have an adventure. Like, literally. Why is it so painful to admit is beyond me.
You say they are the same but you forget the context and meaning behind them.
Why does one want to go to the sea? Why does one want to go on an adventure?
The one who holds the most significance and meaning, imo is the better one.

Uncle Van

Bullets don't hurt. But Taxes do.
Carrot wanted to go on a single adventure out of curiosity. That's why she packed light and didn't Wanda to find out as she thought she was gonna come back soon. She thought the whole thing would be done in just a few days and return to her town that had a 1000 years of peace before Jack showed up.

That's a far cry from Tama wanting to leave and sail with Ace to escape a poison hellhole, and Yamato dreaming of going on many adventures and trying to leave while being a prisoner abused by her father for 20 years.

Nah, once a pirate, always a pirate.
