There weren't rivals, which is why Oda knocked both of them out before the next arc even began. And right, she had no chemistry which is also why she didn't give them the best fight. Ultimately Oda didn't as he's the one who writes her, but the idea sorta checks out

Yeah it’s more shit writing than actual setting. Oda could’ve easily reference Kid’s raid of Totland, Law’s medical expertise in dealing with her abnormal body etc

Only Kid and Law made sense, they are the rivals and new gen leaders. This was made clear in the rooftop battle introduction. Only the new gen usurping the oldheads makes sense, this was also just a milestone for them. Some peeps still cope about them being rivals lol

They will come back stronger, and on par or more powerful than previous yonkos. They will always be the strongest allies, Loki and Yamato won‘t get stronger matchups than them. Dragon and Sabo are the only possible bigger fishes than Law/Kid when the final battle starts. Shanks might beat Shamrock or Garling too, I guess? He can also die without beating anyone lol, so matchups would remain open.
