Chapter Discussion Official English Translation Of "Controversial" Part Of This Chapter

I honestly don't understand where they got "And that other guy" from. It makes it seem like Queen is continuing his sentence from Drake rather than starting a new one. The Japanese raws just say "That's" and the Official Spanish and Unofficial English follows true to that.
You're misreading Viz's English here.

"And that other guy's Roronoa Zoro, huh?! .... " - this is not a continuation of the Drake sentence, it's not meant to be read like that.

He ain't even stronger than Drake
According to Queen. :myman:
Doesnt that just throw away your Drake headcannon lmao.

I feel bad for Ztards following your headcannons even though you literally create them from your owns whims for baiting reasons.
What headcanon? There is no headcanon. There are only manga facts, stuff which Queen said.
Just because Queen thinks something, doesnt make it true. There is also Marco and Jinbe on the island who both should be stronger than Drake so he is definitely wrong about it but that is what he thinks and that's what you have to acknowledge as a fact.

But the doubt is based on a translation in a different language.
I'm certain if we take other languages too like Chinese etc, it will also be different when compared to the Spanish etc
Not necessarily, it's not like languages are 100% different in everything, just like most English structures can be easily translated to Spanish keeping the exact same meaning. We may take Chinese, Italian, German, etc. and find very similar meanings in what Queen is saying, for all we know. In this particular case, English and Spanish aren't that incomparable for their differences to support completely unrelated translations of the same text in Japanese. Someone is making a mistake there, whoever translator it is.

To summarise:

There's actually no real issue with the Viz translation, and is in fact pretty similar to the other translations with only slight differences. But people misread Viz's English, assuming Drake is somehow included in 2nd/3rd.

I can see why non-native English speakers may make that mistake, but it's not what the Viz version implies.

They don't have to be different in everything to prove my point. Their interpretation will different in at least one thing.

So I want to discuss the official translations for the part of this chapter involving Queen's conversation. The official English Translation is... off to say the least. Let's compare it with other translations we have, shall we.

Japanese Raws:

Translation courtesy of @PuckTheGreat:

Queen: So that's Ronoroa Zoro....
Queen: It'd be best to crush their 2nd and 3rd best fighters as quickly as possible........
Queen: Still...to think that Judge's son was part of their crew...
Queen: Vinsmoke Judge...

Official Spanish Translation:

Translation:

Another translation from @JioFreed :
Queen: That's Roronoa Zoro, eh...?
Queen: We have to take down the second and third in command as soon as possible.
Queen: Still, i didn't imagine...that Judge's son was part of his crew.

The Official English version starts the Sanji part of the sentence with "And" and ends with "too" which is also nowhere to be found in the Japanese version and excludes the Sanji part of the convo from the earlier sentence.

A similarly annoying thing also happened in Chapter 993 when Luffy and Sanji are arguing, mainly Luffy's reply to Sanji.

Japanese Raws:

Translation @PuckTheGreat:

Luffy: With those numbers, if it’s just you, it’d take a lot of time
Sanji: Shut up! I’ll finish it in 10 secs. Still got a problem with that!?
Luffy: If I help it’d only take 3
Jinbe: Fishman Karate

Official Spanish Translation:

Translation from @JioFreed
Luffy: With so many enemies, it will take a long time on your own!!
Sanji: Shut up!! Are 10 seconds too much for you?
Luffy: If i helped you it would be 3!!

Unofficial English Translations:

Official English Translation:

...... Really?

Luffy shitting on Sanji?

It's kinda disappointing when the official translation keeps making mistakes like this.
Yes, Stephen also misinterpreted the line "my Nami-san" that Sanji told Usopp.
I hate to sound like a conspiracyist, but this is the third time in a few weeks that he missed a translation that involves Sanji lol, even when dozens of other translations translated differently.

And people like to give Stephen the final absolute word because he is always attentive to ''context'', even with ALL translators always saying that the language is very ambiguous and several sentences require difficult interpretations and context.
He's a good translator, but he makes mistakes, just like any other.

Even if Apoo is highter veteran lvl, Queen could low- negg diff him anytime, which is something that Zoro couldn't do. Pica is negg diff for Apoo. So Zoro is clearly Hight veteran lvl, while some of tobiroppo also hv lvl. Battle against YC for Zoro will be hight diff
Zoro is a top tier who happens to be one of the main characters and like all other main characters his display of strength is gradual, it grows and grows as the time passes so if you are expecting top tier performance while he is stuck in a stalling loop, you should learn about storytelling.

Queen neg diffing Apoo while Zoro is not neg diffing him doesnt place Queen above Zoro.
You will learn that when you see Zoro beating people stronger than Queen.
At that moment, will you ask yourself how comes that Queen can neg diff Apoo and Zoro cant while Zoro beats stronger people than Queen? Will that be a mystery for you or will you understand how main characters work?

Is there any reason to overthink this so much, other than trying to confirm personal bias ? I think it's very simple and obvious, Zoro is number 2 and Sanji is number 3, that's why he talks about taking down number 2 and 3 while looking at Zoro and Sanji's posters. Which also means Jinbe is number 4.
