I laid out the differences in the rest of the post you didn't quote. Creating goofy strawmans isn't going to bait me any further if you won't bother to go over the rest of the post.
The people whose culture I disagree with in your extreme example probably WOULD find it distasteful for me to judge them. One difference not explored in my previous post is I don't spend a large portion of my time consuming media created directly from their culture.
Oh I read all your stuff. And I’m responding to the part I care about. You are claiming that your idea of a limit (that you never implied existed before) is inherently better than another person’s limit. You can judge cultures based on your opinion but others cannot.
okay. Let’s talk about Japan with its consent age of 14 and it’s almost NONEXISTENT protections against things like child pornography
If for example, the person who doesn’t like the Pudding Sanji thing does like it because the author is clearly channeling the general laxness of his country’s laws around such things and so the person can tell the author is fine with minors being depicted like this NOT because of your arguments about level of brain development or whatever but because his very culture itself is just allows this.
Let’s take this into account. That the issue here isn’t about whatever arguments you can make about brain development but simply the laws of Japan itself that give Oda the idea that minors in his story like Rebecca can prance around half naked and Pudding can be married off.
Your randomly moralistic statement calling someone creepy becomes fuckin ridiculous no? Like is this person creepy because they know Oda endorses his pedophile friends and his actual work doesn’t even say otherwise given the Pudding business? The fuck dude. Where do you get the right to insult people for having a problem with all this? Because you read that a 16 year old brain is more developed than a 13 year old brain. That’s it. That fact in a vacuum is enough to put you on this moral high ground? As opposed to actually looking at the culture you so gleefully defend by being #NotImperialist
Geez
