Yea but him being careful only sacrificed Luffy again and again, since he's way too afraid to kill or severly cripple other important characters when he beat them. Zoro, Law, Yamato, even Scabbards, all were exempted from death. Imo this is the main cause Oda always gave Luffy a repeated loss, since he's the only one capable of enduring it without being dead in the process, while others get super recovery medicine, being split by Ope2 before being CoCsmacked which saved their life, other deus ex machinas just after being.

But in doing so, Oda sacrificed tension for Luffy and also for everyone else since there's no sense of danger anymore. Since Kaidou's threat will always be aimed at Luffy, and fear not, Luffy will get one powerup after another since Oda is confused how to solve this problem without wasting 10 hyped but also plot-restrained powerups for Luffy.

If only i can get in touch with him via Greg i would honestly criticise and give him ideas about power progression for MC.
Yeah please try to stalk and harass Oda personally with your dumb shit lol

@MonsterKaido After this chapter I'm convinced that Kaido has a separate awakening transformation.
If you consider his last dialogue before he gets punched really hard (and turned into rubber?), it does seem to point to something else coming.

It seems like Kaido is about to come to realization that he's not Joyboy. Both Yamato and Momo are there to even confirm it, since they heard it from Zunisha. I think with this, some level of resolve will come from the character before finally using his trump card.

Imo, 1046/1047 will be this chapter. He'll realize he's not joyboy and become the true monster he's meant to be to win. The flashback occurs between both chapters and by the end of 1047 he's transformed (maybe).

1048 could be Kaido curbstomping Luffy while Luffy still gets the bearings on his power. I can imagine him forcing his heartbeat to siphon more of his lifespan to keep fighting. Maybe an Orochi scene as well.

1049 could be a fight on equal footing (ala Luffy vs Katakuri) in the named vs chapter. Luffy delivers the final blow.

1050 is the aftermath.

Granted, this assumes we barely get other scenes with Orochi, Hiyori or Denjiro or CP-0, Apoo, Zunesha, etc. And assumes Kaido DOES have an Ace up his sleeve to fight back against Luffy properly. But I 100% think that last punch from Luffy is setting Kaido over the edge.

Chapter 1010:

Chapter 1045:

Oda loves his Kaido punching shots:suresure:

Hopefully though this last one sets him to use whatever final power he (hopefully) has.

I also feel like Momo needs to either give Kaido or Orochi nightmares seeing him as a young Oden lol

Weird how that hasn't happened yet. I really don't think we are close to the end of this fight just yet lol

kaido know he is not joy boy long ago. when he recruited king he believed he was going to revolutionize the world but in their other flashback he is already laughing at the idea and asking if king still believed he was was joyboy and even king answered no but it did not matter to him.
when kaido throw luffy in the sea he even says that luffy could also not be joyboy so he knows he is not the one but was hoping luffy could be.
when kaido understand the legend is still alive and luffy is joyboy he will not be angry because he has been expecting for this legend to be true even if joyboy is not him.

People who don't enjoy the fun and stupidity in this chapter will probably not enjoy the ending of One Piece overall.

Despite having its serious moments, One Piece is a laugh tale after all. :kayneshrug:
Exactly people always crying about tension. I mean look at the art style. It was a great chapter and I was laughing the whole time. Kaido being used as a jump rope was pure gold. OP became popular and just like anything popular many false fans arise just to criticize almost every single chapter. Piss this and piss that and yonko this and yonko that. Everything is serious for them and we going to hear it every chapter.
