For now, it looks to me like Oda decided to axed the whole Kid storyline in this story.

I agree with you. I knew Kidd would ultimately lose to Shanks but I had hope that he would get at least one or two feats against him. I guess Oda couldn’t be bothered to write a few chapters of Kidd vs Shanks?
