Toei put Sanji in Fan Letter in a powerscaling debate just to be laughed at when Sanji was never in the original novel for that one to begin with.

First, as of now Gaban = Roger = Ray is based on little summary of leakers and not actual manga panel
Second, even if this turns out to be true then it applies more on EoS Luffy, Zoro and Sanji than what we have now. At present, Sanji isn't anywhere near them - feat wise and portrayal wise

A statement is not a feat, which is why I made a distinction in the comment you're quoting.
There clearly has always been a clear-cut difference between captains and "first mates" (or "number 2s", if you will) in most groups throughout the whole series, so people weren't wrong in making a distinction between Rayleigh, who has been relevant for over a decade, and Gaban, who was as much of a background character as Bogard for the same decade.

You'll have to excuse them, they've been pushing this agenda for at least a decade, for it to come crashing down this hard is going to break some bones. I mean are we really going to pretend that these same people would be questioning the validity of this statement if it was said about a character that supports their agenda?. I believe Oda injects some hyperbole in his character intros, but never to the level of lies or misinformation. Whatever is being claimed about Gaban in this chapter is closer to being true than false and that is enough to destroy all the agendas that these people have been pushing.
If you bothered to read my explanations you would see that I have never said that Luffy in G5 with ACoC would not take out Sanji in anything but a low diff. But guess what so would Zoro. Zoro hasn’t shown anything that puts him in any company with regards to Luffy. But hey guess what Luffy has already maxed out everything he needs barring some Nika powers/ realisation. Zoro still hasn’t mastered KoH, whilst Sanji’s mastered his Exo to the point where he can turn it on and off at will.

Never have I ever seen this much Roger slander. First it was in Oden FB when Roger begged WB for Oden, but that slander was not about his power level. But this Gaban = Roger thing has opened the flood gates. What kind of a powerup will Sanji get if he is to be equal to Luffy cause currently his strongest attack just got an ouch from Luffy in Egghead. Sanji will get some massive AP grades in the future.

To be fair discussing this kind of controversial topic is difficult because I do not share every opinion of the people I agree with on the current feats. I have never even seen a discussion about Gaban being relevant or not until two weeks ago and at that time it was just people who wanted to see Shiki.
