He balance thing like trash now .
You can't have character show all the shit he learn and in Kaido fight and then have it disappear afterwards .
He was much better at just balancing gears with just with normal haki .
It when he add more stages of advance haki and then a toon mode that he can't balance shit any more .
Having a character having eat 5 times in the same arc for G5 not balancing it as lazy fuck writing cause you make something broken and now you need a way to nerf .
Just don't make it fucking broken in the first place for gags and laughs .
Losing half of his strenght because of scrubbards and yamato don't really make it better for Kaido ngl

The Scabbards should have never been made capable of injuring him. It was such a huge power devaluation after having presented Kaido as nearly-indestructible.

You had Kaido saying that luffy on his level during fight more than once even if Kaido still think he could kick his ass.
luffy in level class don't mean he though luffy could beat him as he did say only a certain set of people can fight him.
