WB “doing good” against admirals isn’t his hype tho is it? His hype is WSM… the man who in his prime was able to tussle with Roger… and yet it’s not quite that is it?
And you don’t know what Garp or Oden’s fights would have continued as.. It’s your headcanon that they would have won
If your argument is that these old legends are still top tiers then fine… as top tiers, they can in fact have impressive feats… But that’s about it… Oda won’t just let them have overwhelming feats with no added shenanigans
Roger fought Rocks WITH GARP… until we are told otherwise, it’s entirely headcanon that Roger beat Rocks in a clean 1v1 with no asterisks of any kind… Oda doesn’t do that shit
Tbf I assume this scene was about his crew. They met Doc Q before meeting him and I think they saw Jesus beating up some guy. Its likely they just knew they were part of a crew.
That said, everything else about Teach supports he's more than just human. Abnormal body, at least 2 DFs, cant sleep, 3 skulls on his Flag, etc all seem to point to something not right with his character that we cant pinpoint just yet.
I am willing to be though that all of that has to do with Rocks, including how Teach knows how to steal fruits from people.
It is not about his crew imo. Scene clearly hints about Teach's secret, why he is more than just human.
But another question arises, how come Zoro - a normal human - could tell there are "them" within Teach (if it was Luffy it kinda different because Luffy is Nika although I doubt Oda has planned Nika yet at Jaya). Nami, another normal human, that can predict weather with her skin, couldn't sense "them".
Inb4 Xebec was the best dad and escaped the grasp of the WG to get to his son, give him ''something'' to protect him and then died smiling to Teach and telling him to ''gambare''
Damn its been 200 chapters when we first heard about Rocks. Time flies fast. Looking at Imu right now. Oda needs to show his goofy design end of Elbaf.
> Teach ended up admiring Whitebeard more than anyone else
> Decided to nickname himself as the dark version of Whitebeard
> Copied his division commander system
> Aimed and took over his fruit
So while Xebec was his father by blood, Whitebeard was his aspiration, but on the dark side
That is truly what I like about how Oda handled Teach. He made him distinguished from Xebec.
I also like how Xebec crashes into Mary Geoise and kills a Marine Admiral while typical Teach pisses himself at the sight of those far weaker than him.
Teach borrowed Xebec's ideals, but not his manners.
