Exactly. So many ways Oda could have gone about this to make us recognise, despite the clowning, that the BMP are a Yonkou crew worthy of respect. He chose not to do so. But as we saw with BM back at Udon, he also yo-yos between portraying her as a joke while showing how powerful and dangerous she is.

He may do that for the BMP later I guess.

Yes? and the point is he made them into a joke. He could have done it in other ways while preserving their image as a threat. He didn't. The BMP are relegated to Ceaser Clown, Buggy Pirate level for now. Maybe that will change later when the actual fighting starts, who knows?
