Marco is stronger, faster, tankier (like unbelievably tankier), and probably more intelligent than Katakuri.

Again, I think Katakuri beats him 1v1 because Katakuri can seal Marco with his awakening, but that's that specific matchup.

If I were going up against someone like say Kaido, Big Mom, Mihawk, Akainu, etc., and I had to choose between having Katakuri on my side or having Marco, I would choose Marco.

I don't expect Carrot's little quest for revenge to go too well anymore that the Scabbards against Kaido and Jack (who is most likely going to recover) or Law's revenge attempt against Doflamingo. At least not in these chapters.

Good point and Marco has consistently competed against FAR higher level opponents than Katakuri on panel.

- Katakuri lost to Luffy who couldn't defeat Cracker on his own.

Marco fought:

• Prime Roger pirates
• Three Admirals (clashed with all of em individually)
• Fought Yonkou level Teach ( Yes he was accepted as a Yonkou immediately after beating Marco whereas Luffy just became a wannabe Yonkou)

So, what really does Kata have on Marco?

I think the Big Mom commanders and Beast Pirate commanders are the weakest because the crew hierarchies are based on fear. In WB and Shank's crews the hierarchies were based on respect.

If you use fear, you can only have allies that are significantly weaker than you, otherwise they revolt. If you use respect, you actually can have allies that are comparable to you.

To be fair, I think Katakuri kinda got shafted by the writing. Like, who else was there in WCI??? There was Big Mom, who he was obviously considerably weaker than, and..... wellll..... no one really of note. I think Oda had to nerf Kat a little to have the events make sense.
