See Onigashima : Izo and Ashura died but it was done very anticlimatically, to the point people were like "oh, they died?" after the raid ended.
Yet for Kinemon who had a good death scene Oda asspulled a bullshit survival. You got something similar with Pound having an emotional last moment just to be revealed alive in a cover story
The only real good present death was Pedro imo. Yasu wasn’t bad but we barely spent time with his character
