I honestly can't see the point of Shamrock's character other than for Luffy to beat Saint Shanks, without actually beating Saint Shanks. Oda is even going out of his way to emphasize how "equal" they are.

So will this be Luffy's main matchup in Elbaf?

It's either him or Gunkmu IMO.

I think Gunkmu will likely be the strongest antagonist but Brook will find a way to get her to dispel Imu from her body. Plus iirc Luffy said he knows how to deal with Imu when he sensed him.

And Shamrock if he reappears will be the main opponent after that, potentially.

So a bit like EH with Kizaru and Gorosei, I suppose.

I don't think so because Loki will undergo a training arc with Zoro and Gaban. This was already hinted.

People claim Gunko-Imu is but the issue with this is Luffy objectively doesnt beat the shit out of clear victims, especially those that are women. Even when he fought the Kuja it was in avoidance and Hancocks sisters basically hurt each other.

Call it Oda's sexism or whatnot, but he doesnt generally have Luffy hit women outside of two very early points in the story, even including Big Mom.

Now that leaves 2 other options:

- Oda repeats God Valley with Loki being Domi-Reversi'ed, so Luffy finds a way to help him. In this way, Loki is a victim but he's also a male ancient giant

- Shamrock is called back

Either option makes sense imo, but Id 100% prefer the latter one because saving Loki does nothing to resolve a particular villain this arc. Imo all the exposition the Figarlands have gotten this arc tells me that one of them should be the main focus of the arc.

Luffy will see shamrock. Shamrock will blitz luffy like Saint Shanks did Kidd totally catching him off guard because he believes he sees Saint Shanks. Zoro will do what killer failed to do and stop him.
