After finishing Stampede (Fun but very thin on plot), a few things I noticed. First, I love how in the first half of the film, Zoro was by Luffy's side, acting as a reliable back up.
Next would be when Luffy ordered Zoro to back up the Sunny. Zoro was basically leading the Grandfleet members of the Barto Club and Beautiful Pirates during their clash with the Marines.
As it happens, Zoro was directing and fighting alongside the future Grandfleet members the most during Dressrosa. He was even the one to drink the sake cup which was intended to inaugurate them as the Grandfleet.
I know the movie isn't canon, but I really do like how Zoro's been taking charge of the fleet in all these various sources.
Given the Grandfleet is expected to do something wild, I wouldn't be surprised or mind Zoro be the one to lead them instead of Luffy.
