It's weird how he makes all those top swordsmen at worst grey dudes... Mihawk, Vista, Fuji ...they all are more good than bad and not really in conflict with Zoro

Only one seems Shiryu but he is a gimmick pony and looks like a rejected street fighter design

I pray we don't go the stupid Shiryu somehow beats Mihawk way just to create some tension for the BB crew fight

I think with the recent reveal that Shiryu took Absalom’s fruit, it’s become increasingly unlikely that Shiryu can defeat Mihawk. I mean, what’s invisibility to a man that Oda was going to nickname ‘clairvoyant’? Fuji’s level of CoO allows him to feel others’ presence even if he can’t physically see them, Shiryu’s fruit is basically useless against him as well.

Since CoA is Zoro’s specialty, it’s not surprising that he will achieve a higher mastery of it first, but his COO definitely needs work and Shiryu would be the perfect opponent for him before he faces Mihawk. Worst case scenario Zoro and Sanji could tag team Shiryu, although I’d say Zoro would be very opposed to the idea lol.

I posted it in the other thread but Kizaru may indeed be a swordsman.


While Kizaru used his sword against Ray, the only person capable of hurting him so far. It could be due to the fact that in order to safely engage Ray, he had to use a sword.

But WB also had a bladed weapon yet Kizaru didn't need a sword against him.

Here for example WB drops his bisento to utilize his power better, and use as much of his strength as he can

But Kizaru in his most serious clash/fight on panel opted for a sword

Now as I said it could be due to the fact that swordsman are extremely lethal, but he didn't use it against WB who he could overpower without it. WB perhaps could not use his haki efficiently.


Also note that Kizaru was pissed off because Ray stopped him.

If Zoro has to tag-team it to beat Shiryu, he doesn't deserve to get a duel with Mihawk.

I don’t think Zoro would want to tag team either but the fact is that Sanji’s dream was to eat the invisible fruit and Oda is very much addicted to running gags. If Sanji found out about Shiryu’s ability, he’d definitely have some kind of strong reaction to it.

I would actually like to see another Zoro-Sanji tag team similar to Davy Back. It’s been too long since we’ve seen Zoro team up with or lead the crew to make shit happen.

I left Zoro out, because I can't pin-point him right now. I guess he would be somewhere between Vista and Oden. Also, I was basically scaling rest of the swordsmen.

Law, Cracker and Shiryu have never proclaimed themselves to swordsmen, have they? If so, then Law will be at Vista Level and Cracker would be Ashura level. I can't pin-point Shiryu.

There was something here I shared earlier that labelled Law a swordsman, it was from Usopp's gallery iirc. I think it is pretty obvious, at least that Shiryu is a swordsman, but I understand what you are saying.

The hype came from the statement that Shiryu was just as strong as Magellan and more bloodthirsty. I remember, people considering Magellan to be as strong as an Admiral.

But, Shiryu doesn't feel like a top-tier at all.
